Cuz that is the document that authorizes his (checked and balanced) power. Without that, he is not the president and there is no basis for the federal government.

Second part is underrated, what does “reform” outside of passing a constitutional amendment mean?
Ignore the federal constitution and you destroy the basis for the federal government.

Going after local judges is not a good strategy. Many Judges are regarded as pillars of their communities, not easily intimidated, knowledgeable about the legal process, and very capable of pleading their case.

Would have been nice if the media actually took him seriously and asked about/informed the public of the consequences of his policies.

If state governors aren’t drawing up contingency plans then they are not doing their duty by their citizens. States are the largest, most independent, and natural points of defense against a tyrannical federal government.

Nothing like rolling up to college and the trump admin disappearing your friends for no reason and forcing political appointees to oversee your curriculum to endear young folks to trump

No to fascism, no to giant screens, no to subscription model car features, no to that ugly thing, and no to Tesla. You could not pay me to own one.

For NYT there is nothing they can’t overlook in legitimizing people with money and power and nothing they can forgive for those without.

And call out trump administration enablers for doing a “we’ve always been at war with Eastasia” on tariff policy

Maybe, maybe sooner, maybe never. Madman theory president except the president is actually insane and it isn’t being used toward any rational purpose.

Doesn’t make any sense, Vietnam already made a bunch of concessions and got hit with a massive tariff. Trump admin has to make an offer for there to be an offer they can’t refuse.
Aside from Eric’s comment it doesn’t seem like any are communicating what these countries would have to do.

Also almost every country with a US military base is going to want it gone as quickly as possible lest it be used as a means to invade.

Also the way the constitution contemplates “serving as president” is being elected as president because being elected is a fundamental part of the office of the presidency.
So for a VP to be a VP and “serve as president” they must also be eligible to be elected president.

At some point, if some of the more extreme fantasies of Trump and his ilk come to pass, states should probably reevaluate if there is a national project worth sticking around for or if there is another way forward with another reconfiguration of states.

Love how his analysis severs the office of the presidency in a republic from the manner of the president’s election, which is constitutive of the office.
An unelected president is just a king by another name.

Kinda like a Molotov pact redux with the US playing the role of Nazi Germany and Ukraine playing the role of Poland.
