Listening to this beautiful piano instrumental record by Dan Wilson, accomplished songwriter for the stars & Semisonic troubadour. Quiet, meditative, melodic, understated. The 100-year-old+ upright piano pronounces every click, every sustain pedal press. Lovely record. 🎧 album.link/hstf644n86vt2

Sadly, this show was cancelled / postponed by the venue. We're working out a new date.

I'm really looking forward to playing a show next Friday May 9 over at Progression in Northampton, MA . It's been awhile. Looking like we'll have a full band for this one. #westernmassmusic

I spent this past weekend recording with The Documents up in Goshen, MA in an old barn converted to a studio. This new record of ours is going to sound so good. Now if I can just figure out how to use my watch as a camera remote and a timer... #westernmass #music

MapQuest's Bluesky Feed is A++

#westernmass music update: My band The Documents will open for The Lucky Shots at Progression in Northampton, MA on May 9th. We've been working on a new record for a number of months (and headed back into our old barn/studio this weekend even). Let's see if a crowd likes these forlorn piano ballads.

A song on shuffle that found me today: @anidifranco.bsky.social's "Your Next Bold Move" (2001), evoking that feeling of helplessness about making good decisions and trying to stick to your values in the midst of bleak, massive-scale capitalism. anidifranco.bandcamp.com/track/your-n...

If you're looking for an open-source privacy-focused alternative to Google or Apple or Microsoft, Ente is fantastic. ente.io

Nails on a chalkboard: People demonstrating something in videos using "go ahead and" or "we're going to go ahead and..." repeatedly.

It's been an incredible day standing out in the relentless pouring rain.

It's just a regular Friday where you could find my music on Bandcamp. https://bit.ly/4iY86Wi?utm_source=Matthew_Larsen&utm_medium=Bluesky

Skylight is great-- more timely than TikTok. More real than Reels. Built on AT protocol and link friendly. Well done, @buildwithtori.com

Lumon vibes.

It was low already but wow I have 0% tolerance for April Fools social posts today. Anyways, Happy April!

Here's your reminder to periodically check your contacts list in your phone. Clean it up, delete old stuff, make sure people's numbers are assigned correctly and up to date, etc.

Just signed up for BIKES FIGHT CANCER, a charity ride taking place on June 14th here in #westernmass raising funds for cancer orgs I care about, including @danafarber.bsky.social, @cooleydickinson.bsky.social and Cancer Connection. They'll get 100% of donations. www.pledgereg.com/5310/matthew...

Parking on street glaciers has gotten old. I'm ready for this New England winter season to be over.

An unsolvable mystery: Over the years whenever my library card needs to be renewed, I discover that my local library has changed the spelling of my last name using an O instead of E in my Full Name and Email fields in their database. Why? I have no idoa.

Occasionally, shuffle plays my own MP3s that I almost forgot about. It's nice to rediscover things. Please let my instrumental piano version of this hit classic that I recorded in 2005 lull you into a state of relaxation. (it's quiet) youtube.com/shorts/_LxRS...

My extremely affectionate cat Luddy died in 2018. Still makes me smile whenever I see old pics of him. I never met a more friendly or easygoing feline. Here's one of him in his favorite spot in my old apartment in Easthampton, mid 00s.

I've used Hootsuite and Buffer in various professional capacities, but I'm trying OneUpapp.io here to see if it works better for me. Really impressed by the number of features they've introduced this year, including of course posting to Bluesky.

It's hard to pick, but Last Place might be my favorite Grandaddy record. 🎧#nowlistening album.link/6mpccft735xsv

My favorite genre of b-movies is probably inventor-of-ubiquitous-item biopics. God I love now knowing some lore behind the guy who invented Flamin' Hot Cheetos.

3rd year in a row I've had a flu/cold on Valentine's Day. I'm hopefully on the tail end of it, but I _don't_ love it!

I don't know what to do with myself.

@pinksky.app is really great, folks. It's like Insta without the nonsense.

If you're new to Bluesky, or even if you're not, I can't recommend browsing around this site enough. Great directory of things helping the Bluesky community grow and all things ATproto. Not just for nerds! It's like a Wikipedia and Glossary for Bluesky. blueskydirectory.com

Incandescent Zeppelin had a warmer sound.

Guess it's time to re-watch "Canadian Bacon", an extremely underrated 1995 satire of an attempted cold war with Canada prompted by the U.S. John Candy, Rip Torn, Alan Alda, Rhea Pearlman, Kevin Pollak and Michael Moore. Oh, of course Steven Wright A++ #canada www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jf8...

Anybody in Western Mass (Northampton area) have a recommendation for a place that does data recovery? Found a couple of old hard drives that power on but keep just cycling with no success.
