GOP Sen. Joni Ernst responds to voters saying that cutting Medicaid will kill them: “Well, we all are going to die.”

As I've said before, what we're dealing with fundamentally here, and have been dealing with for some time, is evil. Our political norms and political media prohibit talking about a mainstream political faction this way. But it is the truth. It needs to be known and it needs to be said.

Garlicky Roast Potatoes with Oregano and Feta are #RecipeOfTheDay! They’re wonderful with slow-roast lamb, and also with nothing more than a fried egg. In fact, I can’t think of a bad way to eat them! www.nigella.com/recipes/garl...

“.. these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/o...

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" report cited hundreds of studies, but a closer look by the news organization NOTUS found that some of those studies did not exist.

democrats should be talking all the time about the republican obsession with childrens genitals, women's wombs, and their love of corruption and crime. but irl democrats think theyre going to get millions of people to vote because of sleep inducing arguments about kitchen table economics

Rhetorical Question: how was this team so bad?

Continuing jobless claims, highest since Nov 2021 .. “.. The numbers suggest the combined impact of the Trump administration’s .. initiatives are starting to take a larger toll on the labor market as those out of work increasingly struggle to find new positions.” www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Big thanks to united Healthcare for denying my adult patient with CP for his new manual wheelchair. I'm sure that pressure he's getting from the broken down one will miraculously heal on it's own. Great company. Love working with them.

Soda literally kept me alive when an SBO d/t IBD meant I couldn't eat anything and we were not near my normal hospital, so you can call it "junk food" if you want to, but that's not a scientific or medical judgement.

the plan to make america great again is to make us an impoverished garrison state dominated by trump and his oligarch buddies

Blocking universities from selling their product to foreigners will drive up the cost of tuition for Americans. More and more student debt for Americans.

I wrote about Republicans’ efforts to restrict access to COVID vaccines, and how this aligns with ongoing efforts to claim that COVID is the problem of a few “vulnerable” individuals, rather than a collective public health crisis. Read here: www.thegauntlet.news/p/republican...

You know how these guys are really into the idea that any disease can be cured with a healthy diet of unprocessed foods? Doesn’t work so well when the disease is E. coli from lettuce that isn’t reported publicly because FDA isn’t competent to keep food safe. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

Anti-vax is now the mainstream GOP position. They’re starting with COVID jabs because they’re new. And media has been willing to carve out an exception for skeptics of the COVID jabs as though they’re not anti-vaxxers. But they are and they’re coming after all vaccines.

Wait, are the terminally online politics posters finally doing 'Is Bluesky bad?' discourse? Because lemme tell you, it is and it's your fault.

Me at 6 am: well it looks like nice weather so I should at least weed the front garden beds. Me at 2 pm: so I weeded all the garden beds and dug out the grass from two to create an edge and planted a bunch of Veggies and flowers and set up my netting over the veggies to keep the rabbits away.

Antivaxx and libertarianism are the same--they can exist only when the majority of the population buys in to what it takes to live in a society, allowing the minority to think they are outsiders thriving on their own exceptionalism.
