Not to mention the time commitment required from parents to get the kiddos around. Blu collar parents who have to punch a clock many times can't do it, while the white collar ones working flexible schedules and arrangements can.

What about Living Color "Cult of Personality"? Too mainstream? Too on-the-nose?

Related but different, I heard one time that Tools "Sober" would be a great alt country cover, and i have searched for a flaw in that opinion for 30 years without finding it.

Jar of Flies is very nearly perfect. I have been listening to it for like 30 years and still find things I never noticed before. The high water mark for AIC in my humble opinion.

Looks like sturgill and jack black merged

I drove a 1978 Monte Carlo for years without reverse. I once had to ask a date to get out and help me push it backwards after we got parked in. I didn't get a second date.

I could go for a twinkie, now that you mention it.

Yeah, but I bet you've never appreciated 3 straight hours of sleep as much as you do now.

We took shifts holding our oldest for the first 6 months. I would hold her until 2am, feed her, and hand her off to my wife until we all got up at 5. But it gets better, they go to sleep on their own when they get a little older.

It’s art. The best we have to offer. A reason why AI will not replace us.

Might be too niche, but what about "Hell" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers? Or maybe some swing revival thing that I don't care to think about?

That’s a life lesson that I’ve carried with me,too

Any thoughts on a possible hidden correlation with thoughts on the effectiveness of government? I.e. the left more likely assumes the government can solve problems and therefore more willing to accept suggestion?

Started back on the bike in early December after 2 years off. I've built back up to be preparing for a PR next week. It comes back faster the 2nd time.

Or, when you hear “80s music”, it doesn’t include Michael Jackson.

I’ve had the same thought about The Doors. But what if you go back a bit further to Elvis? Biggest thing in the world through the 70s, but when was the last time you heard an Elvis song?

Watched that one last night at the club after my game. It turns out to be a pretty fun one.

Would you need a geneticist and public health prof?

I cheer for Krista McCarville every year. She’s a teacher who curls, and plays the game the right way.

Our institutions have worked so well for so long, that people assume a false baseline. Even the "government is broken" folks are talking about lines that are too long at the DMV, not about losing their bank deposits or drinking adulterated milk.

Where is this? I feel compelled to go see it for some reason that I can't quite grasp.

I’m having trouble visualizing the end of this particular winter. January alone felt like it was 10 years long.

Thought occurred to me this afternoon, as a father, that her parents were probably super proud of her for working in Washington, having no idea what she was really dealing with.

-25 here when we woke up this morning, but no biggie. It’s January.

Love Townes, but I think the Gourds covered Two Girls extremely well.

Sure would be nice to think some regulatory body might look into this, but here we are.

That’s more than Fargo has had in 2 years, and we have those things.

Been a Vikings fan long enough to not be shocked. Would guess the long, cold winter sets in next week.

Right. I remember actually hoping school wouldn’t be cancelled sometimes because I didn’t want to help shovel snow again.

Cooking has become a lifestyle or a hobby, so there is a lot of pressure to make meals that have many specific ingredients that some chef on the food channel was cooking. My mom would brown some hamburger and open a can.

They can be talked into things, for sure.

Thing is, the fog people sit on all the resources the blueskys (no pun intended) need. So, the millionaire militia ruling class needs convince them that it is in their best interest to be ruled and transfer it.
comment in response to post
Actually, they would head out to the lakes and rule the fog people.

You guys would miss us out-staters. And we’d probably evolve into fog people and storm the gates at some point.

I had the same thought about Fargo. Happened at least 3 times that I noticed already this winter.
