One of SoCalās wacky and weird features, the dinosaurs by the 10 fwy. Back then they were more freestanding than they are now.

The āDiscoverā feed is an algorithm. The āFollowingā feed is chronological, I believe. My mental state has been more about the news. Argh. Need more himbos. Lol

I was a fan of hers from the beginning, and I very much respect her as an artist. But after reading her memoir about her past and her cult-like mother, she seems to have gone down that path herself. She seems to always talk about mental health in science-y woo terms that make little sense to me.

Iām already seeing people pull resources together. We have the internet and more information than weāve ever had. I think the queer elders have more responsibility here since weāve been down this road. Whether the youth want to listen to us is up to them.

It feels very much like weāre going back to the 80s and 90s when we were basically on our own. We had to learn to take care of ourselves and each other.

It took me so long to realize this as a young gay, and we had social media but no smartphones. I canāt event imagine what itās like for them now. I see so many of them as more confident than I could ever be, and yet just as easily manipulated.

Itās not unreasonable to have fear, rage, panic in this moment. Iāve been there myself. But I canāt with people who are sharing content that is actually helpful and even hopefulāand the doom and gloom responses. Must put phone down.

When I first joined, I followed mostly creative folks, some political feeds, and a few thirsty feeds. All of a sudden my "discover" feed was all kinds of holes and peaches.

I understand some people make money off of TikTok, but I truly think most of us need to actually touch grass and find other things to do. I donāt think TikTok has actually improved my life since being on it.

On Watch Duty and it looks like Alhambra is not under evacuation warning. She might be okay going back for now but that could change. She might wanna hold off until the wind starts to die down. Thereās probably tons of debris on the roads. Definitely have her check the local fire dept. alerts.

I knew last night was going to be a long night. With the sun rising now Iām hoping they can get more choppers in the air to fight back some of the progress. In the meantime there should be evacuation centers and resources around WeHo.

She should download the Watch Duty app. It has live updates, maps, and evacuation resources. Praying for her safety. Iām from SoCal and none of us have seen anything like this.
