Marian Hossa was having a Conn Smythe level playoff for the Pens in 08.

I would take a dump for an owner who gave a bleep about the team’s fans and didn’t treat us like morons.

I think it's hockey and basketball because of the fast-paced nature of the sport. I look back on my childhood and what moments are defined by announcer calls and they are consistently Gary Thorne playoff hockey calls or Gus Johnson March Madness moments.

Do you just go pocket sandwich like you're Rafi in The League?

For storyline purposes, this better be an absolute squash on the way to a darker and more dominant Gunther. That's the only way it makes sense.

Manufactured controversies around sports team White House trips are the height of stupidity and mean absolutely nothing.

This whole segment is precisely why this show/podcast network is the best in sports entertainment right now and has been for years.

“I wanna see two men with big chests. And big thighs. Bumping off linemen. That’s what I wanna see. That’s why I’m here. You want your mobile QBs? You want your scat back cut backs? Nah, bump that.”

I get those that say "Baseball broadcasts are boring and you have 162 of them so you gotta bring some creativity to the telecast," but this ain't it. When the camera's on, you're there to talk about the game, the atmosphere, the team and the fans. You want to kick game, do it when the camera is off.

It sucks but in general, I'm OK with all of this ineptitude. It's the only way any change is going to occur. Once you strip the fake luster away from non-losing seasons and lengthy playoff droughts, Art II is left being an emperor with no clothes. Can't live off your past forever.

At first it’s like, okay Gus, chill out. But, if a tournament is paying its champ out $25K per player, that’s a nice payday. If they can keep that up in the economy we’re entering, yeah, it has staying power.

I work in hospital healthcare communications, and recently asked a nurse to describe to me what an ECMO is. This was right after the episode where they performed one in the show. The nurse's explanation was virtually word for word how it was described in the show.

If I remember, the NCAA has strict rules on where you can film during tournaments and the tunnel area isn't one of them. However, the correct response by a Comms Director should never be to gaslight a reporter. Hurley said what he said. He got got. Own it. Don't tell journos how to do their job.

I work in hospital healthcare (nowhere near the emergency department though) and literally had lucid dreams about it last night. Haunting. One of the best episodes of TV I’ve ever seen.

It felt like a repeat of the end of
season Louisville Kyle Kuric game in 2010 and how the bad vibes just continued (because let’s be honest, the 2010 team was THE team that was gonna win it all) but it was worse because Virginia was a blowout and the wheels just came off a healthy team.

From 25-0 to the CJ Fair charge + our first conference tournament outside of NYC + Archie Miller. That last month was gut punch city.

It was an infinitely more "fun" run than 2013, but also, a reminder that we haven't been truly good in over a decade now, which is horrendously depressing. Because there's a difference between good and March-hot.

Just picturing this as a sketch comedy with Brutus moments before plunging the knife looking at him while disapprovingly shaking his head saying, “*sigh* classic Caesar.”

At least after the 2016 election, Democrats mobilized in an organized way with a unified message of resistance. They were an actual opposition party. It’s a staggering change since then. For Democratic voters, it’s incredibly defeating. We want to fight and our leaders bend.

Play the long game: Signing Rodgers will not only tank the season but it will also destroy the locker room so bad Tomlin will get fired AND they’ll pick their next franchise QB top 10 in Pittsburgh next year.
