Imagine being the guy who gave that comment a thumbs down.

The Sgt. Slaughter with Sgt. Slaughter action figure is innovative stuff

See this is precisely the kind of nonsense I love as a collector.

There’s an episode of Night Court from the 80s(!) where Harry has a trans friend. It’s wild how far we’ve regressed on this issue.

And yes I’m positive it was Six because she was a special guest at the game a couple hours before.

Many folks certainly kept it up for too long. Agreed. They were super obnoxious at times, too. That said, I still think using republicans allegiance to Trump as a good example for success is…crazy. Especially when we look at how their party is now beholden to him (which is its own purity test!)

So when I said the entirety of the left did not demand purity, that was accurate, right? Instead it was a vocal group of folks online (who used a hashtag, as you pointed out). And we don’t know how those folks voted either. I’m sure most didn’t vote for Kamala but I’d bet many did.

So, a portion of the left and not the entirety of the left, right? What percentage would you say the uncommitted movement represented among the left?

“The left” in its entirety certainly did not demand purity. Some vocal folks online did. I would wager many of them still voted for Kamala. Lobbying for more from your politicians isn’t necessarily a purity test.

Winning is the only thing they care about and now they all have to kiss Trump’s feet to keep their jobs. What a victory.

Absolutely but that doesn’t mean you can’t ask politicians to represent your beliefs in order to get your full support. The phrase purity test gets thrown around to label a lot of things I wouldn’t call a purity test.

Fail by what definition? Bluesky is exactly what I need it to be: a place where generally informed and well meaning people discuss the events of the day and share jokes. Will it fail as a business? Maybe but that’s not my job. I’m enjoying my stay and wouldn’t subject myself to X again.

I have that shirt! I’ll add it to my rotation of subtly political shirts.

We need our institutions to show bravery. It’s the only way.

Time for an emergency episode of the pod, right?

I wonder how many people in the Trump administration have also committed the crimes he listed in this video. I’d love to see some of those very bad people arrested too.

I used to listen to it nonstop and fell out of the habit years ago. I've always been meaning to get back into it—as recently as last week! Such a shame but I hope what's next brings him joy.

Wait so the government gets blamed for things it has nothing to do with? He’s so close to getting it.

I loved her so much and think she would’ve made a great president but the electorate did not like her. That was one time where I looked at a candidate I adored and realized there wasn’t much hope of convincing the masses.

I spent most of my teen years thinking that liking anything was mortifying and the day I grew out of it my entire world opened up. Life is so much enjoyable when you allow yourself to enjoy it.

Marc James has been run out of just about every media market. I can’t believe he keeps getting work.
