This has happened to me. It’s “here’s your verification code to open the lock box to get your stuff.” It’s all tied to my email. Needing ID verification is unnecessary and stupid.

And we have those thoughts *every time* yet we then think “maybe it’s different/worse this time” and it compounds the situation. Asking any of us why we are having one is cruel and unkind.

I can think of many times when I didn’t know why I was having one until after the fact. And those are the worst because they creep out of nowhere. Asking why I, or anyone else is having one, makes it worse. Because asking makes us focus on the question, not getting through one.
