Listen, I don't like Earle-Sears and I'll be voting for her opponent Spanberger in the fall, but that's not the point she's making here.

Isn't it weird how when public figures start getting public backlash they almost always start moving to the right?

Where's DOGE at? How can we afford the $1 billion+ it'll take to actually make it into Air Force One when we've already purchased planes from Boeing?

In the past they said she wasn't a real doctor because she wasn't an MD, so they definitely know. Which makes the post even worse.

I think that's the point. He most likely knows this and just like in the past, he's trying to diminish her title because she isn't an MD.

Newsom is speed running the destruction of any presidential ambitions he might've had.

Weird how for 4 years Biden was somehow unable to replace DeJoy, now within just a couple months, Trump is able to replace his own pick.

Newsom is doing an excellent job of tanking his 2028 primary odds

People will try to say she's "unelectable" and won't be able to appeal to moderates across the aisle, as if gay man, black man, Jew, gov of Cali, or a black woman would fair any better.

The amount of "Dems" I've seen dragging Bernie on this app lately is a bit concerning.

If you consistently propose popular policies that benefit the working class and they never get passed and the main criticism is about how they're "socialist," then that just shows that the other politicians who refuse to pass them don't actually care about the working class.

I think this says more about every other politician than it does about Bernie

Immigrants will still come to the US, but now if they work it will be under the table. Reducing tax revenue for the government and increasing the likelihood that employers will abuse them even more.

That's nice and all, but still not enough. Need at least 20 GOP senators and 77 GOP House members.

It is now a prerequisite to support SCOTUS reform for any Dem presidential candidate. Dems should not give the time of day to any candidate who isn't in favor of using the power of the presidency to reign in this rogue court.

If a candidate wants to win the Dem primary, they should make it a point to not repeat the mistakes of the Obama and Biden administrations and commit to prosecuting officials from this current administration.

When some of the richest owners in baseball give you a budget of just $50m to find a new DH, 1st baseman, 3rd baseman, starters, and relievers, you probably won't end up with the best in any of those spots.

So you're saying it would be good for a reporter to go to prison just so the people responsible for the leak feel a little bit more embarrassed?

That's not how that works. Just because they say something is declassified doesn't actually mean it is. Like how Trump tried to say all the docs in his bathroom were declassified when they weren't.
comment in response to

Bad take. The administration is obviously lying that there was no classified material. So if he releases the texts, they will almost certainly go after him for releasing classified material to the public.
comment in response to
post
Just because they say it isn't classified doesn't actually mean they aren't classified. Like how Trump tried to argue that he declassified the documents in his bathroom just by saying so, didn't actually affect their classification.

Schumer is trying to gaslight us. It was never about choosing the lesser of two evils and reducing the amount of harm Musk/Trump could cause to the country. He got a call from Wall Street telling him to keep the government open and like a good little dog he did just that.

Those 38 must now move to have Schumer resign as minority leader.

Simply voting No on the CR is no longer good enough. Dems now need to vote for new leadership.
comment in response to

This has been a disasterclass political messaging. Instead of everyone being focused on how bad the Republicans are for causing a shutdown, Schumer has now shifted the focus to how disconnected the Democratic Party leadership is from the rank and file members.

Any Democrat who thinks that persuading Trump supporters is an effective campaign strategy should be nowhere near electoral politics.
comment in response to

In other words, the backlash will only be limited to the people that put us in office. If they detest their supporters this much, then why not just switch parties already?
comment in response to

Sure Newsom is gearing up to run for president, but having Steve Bannon on your podcast to spew lies with no pushback seems like a terrible strategy to win a Democratic primary.

The real question is who was able to convince him to go from 'Dems WILL NOT help Republicans' to 'Dems MUST help Republicans' in the span of just 24 hours?

Progressives need to start really pushing for ranked choice voting nationwide. We desperately need a progressive third party in this country.

Senate Dems need to show that they are determined to stand up for the people. That not only includes voting no on the GOP budget, but now, also voting to replace Schumer as minority leader.

Democrats: All-time low approval numbers.
Schumer: Voting with Republicans and betraying our base will surely help with that.
comment in response to

Schumer shouldn't be considered a Democrat. Democrats need to put him as their leader.
