put a little differently, trump is creating a clear hierarchy of states based on nothing other than his arbitrary political preferences. some states, and thus some citizens, will be disadvantaged for no other reason than that the president does not like they don't obey his will.

I want to know how the airline pilot ranks get filled in this paradigm. He just avoided the selection question by pushing it back a little—is it the current crop of airline pilots? Some future crop? Do they gain immortality somehow?

I for one would welcome rule by *checks notes* airline pilots, who will avoid the question of how their ranks are refreshed over time by *bong rip* gaining immortality (I would not)

I do want to hear this same story but with more traction on the why young men are shifting toward religious organizations with rigid traditional gender hierarchies and less acceptance without response of the given reasons.

Yeah. Somehow, even after the last ~45 years of observable events, the reputational inertia of the label “Republican” is such that it covers over their actual beliefs, to the point where you can’t even neutrally explain those positions w/o sounding like a hack. Been a wildly successful PR campaign.
