I mean, you can point a camera in pretty much any direction in Honfleur and get a stunning picture. So to have failed to do so entirely is quite an achievement 😁

Ooh hey! Wait! It was on mine! House!

Wow, that's rude. I do get the point about victim blaming now. I don't feel I'm blaming anyone, I thought I was just saying lookout for yourself when riding. There's a lot of vitriol out here and I'm not sure this discussion is helping. Have a nice day, and stay safe.

I think this article helps me understand your point, www.cyclinguk.org/news/2016092... Thanks. Stay safe.

I don't understand why you're persisting with wilfully ignoring the point of road users being fallible. The diagram is what priority you have when everything is working correctly. There's not a diagram for what happens when something has gone wrong.

I agree completely. It'd be great if cyclists didn't have to consider this. I think all road users should ride a bike for a bit, and drive a 7.5T for a bit. Both are eye opening experiences.

I don't think I am. I'm just saying if a lorry driver makes a mistake then you could wind up dead. I would like the lorry driver to be more careful, but he'll sometimes make a mistake. It's not deliberate.

I'm guessing you think I look youthful in my profile pic! Thx! Look, I'm not saying you're a danger on the roads, I'm trying to drive in safe way all the time too. Inevitably some drivers will make mistakes, its human, so I try to be prepared for that. I'm not sure what's so contentious about that.

Where's this coming from "What's stopping you?" I agree completely with what you've said about following the highway code, paying attention etc. I'm pointing out that people are fallible, and being prepared for that is sensible.

What about me doesn't sound like a cyclist? As a cyclist I know I'm very vulnerable on the road, so I make allowances for that. This is because mistakes happen, not because everyone is out to kill you. You don't sound like a road user. You sound like someone who likes to make noise on the internet.

The blame is still with the driver.. but you're the one under the bus. No point being righteously indignant with a tyre track across your chest. Every road user can make mistakes, be prepared for that. Weird final sentence there.. but this is the internet after all. 🙄

This is not how it works. You need to drive, ride, walk as if anyone can make a mistake. You could stride onto a zebra crossing knowing that "drivers must stop", it doesn't mean you won't end up under a bus because the they didn't stop. Defensively you make eye contact and judge the bus is slowing

Vine is a pillock. The fact he's able to post so many of his stupid videos speaks more to his lack of cycling skills and road awareness than the it does about the drivers. Speaking as a cyclist myself I think he's done our cause more harm than good, and I'm glad he's not going to post any more.

And, of course, partly due to the number of elephants that might be hiding in it.

I guess people just didn't realise that was an option...

If you don't get that the rules don't seem to apply then you need to wake up... a) Extend term length with an amendment b) Change the 2 terms rule with an amendment c) Declare martial law, suspend elections until "this whole situation calms down" d) Ignore the rule (ground work tested already)
comment in response to post
Ah, so close! To be fair, there is only _one_ elephant in the picture. Probably just needs an elephantCount = elephantCount -1 in the code and they'll have this bang on.

This has never happened, so don't try and make out that we ever experienced this joy 😁 (always on the third try)

Ok, fair enough. Annette _noted_ that in some situations printf has merits over interactive debugging. I'm noting also that coding those statements as permanent logging, rather than temporary changes, can pay dividends when the app is running in the wild and you have to diagnose something.
comment in response to post
Your suggestion to use printf gives the impression these are temporary statements to help debugging on a per-case basis. Don't do that. Add logging, lots of logging, log on success as well as failure. Now when it breaks in the wild you can tell what went wrong.

The first one is _always_ wrong... and so is the second. So you should have flipped it twice to get it right first time.

It's not though is it? In general they don't care. As long as they're owning the libs they're happy. If they lose any benefits they'll find a way to blame the libs for taking it. Either libs block policies they think will benefit them. Or libs twist policies to hurt them because they run "the swamp"

Lovely picture. I'd have guessed Japan without your comment! We're heading to Vancouver and Seattle next year - can't wait to see that combination of city and mountains.

I think I found that same street wandering a very quiet London during a gap in lockdowns. Lovely atmosphere in your photograph. 👍

Hard to go wrong with Hawaii isn't it!? But you got more of the light and shade in your shot, and a bit more ocean too. Nice work!

Are you saying that Infowars wasn't _always_ a spin-off of The Onion? But.. but..
