Any friendly nation that didn't want to join the war machine of conflicts past got demonized - during THE FIRST Gulf war Japan took heat for a perceived lack of support, propagandized in the US, leading to racist news reports, bumper stickers and a threatening situation for Japanese Americans.

It was the classy alternative to plain 'long johns' with the ass-flap held up by big buttons. Both could only be externally witnessed during emergencies in the late hours, such as a fire or a robbery. They added levity to tragedy, and informed a robber whether it was worth it to take a hostage.

I love these hideously misguided attempts to straddle or jump the fence, when the opposing side hates to even LOOK at you, just hates your entire being, and the side you pretended to be on has now learned to hate you, creating a unanimity but not as intended.

It's a real vintage Marvel series 'inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey' with art by Jack Kirby. I haven't read it yet, but judging from the covers I'll say it's a verrrry loose adaption! I immediately fantasized a macho-dude version of the famous 'pod bay door' scene, so I had to share!

AI just aggregates years of Q and A programming questions on the Internet. Real amateur programmers search old forgotten threads where a lost soul's matching dumb question got answered by someone who also insulted and ridiculed them for asking such a basic thing and not looking at the docs.
