Great back and forth series! I'd love it to go to 7 games so we can watch more of it.

A stitch in time saves nine. What's worse, though, is that natural disasters also disproportionately affect Black and Latino communities, so the structural racism of these cuts just further widens disparities and long term harms.

I can't believe that they haven't figured out how to fix the bar exam yet. The California Bar was already the toughest bar exam in the U.S., but they added a slew of technical issues and uncertainty to take it up another level.

Not that strategic organizing and forecasting political outcomes isn't important, but to lean into a strategy of absence or inaction is really off base. For folks being marginalized and targeted by the administration, your presence and support is golden and might even inspire those on the sidelines.

Durable efforts for universities will require reform and narrative change that undoes what is/seems so ivory tower about them to so many.
And the economics will matter. If people can't afford college and the econ divide between degree holders and others widens, it's hard for folks to empathize.

Great piece! The sports metaphor is apt. Some folks already treat politics that way.
The challenge is that it's more serious than a game and some folks don't follow politics at all. Getting them off the sidelines and articulating feasible actions will be key (march, petition, donate, volunteer etc)

They robbed her. I would sort of get it if the celebration was aimed at the other competitors but this is just a nothingburger

In this administration, nothing is certain but uncertainty.

I've heard it said that "we don't see things as they are but that we see things as WE are." Feels accurate and probably why we can't ever go home again because we all change. And that's not really a bad thing because without change we're also not growing. In any case it's bound to elicit melancholy.

Based on previous canvassing experience, this checks out.
