Finally, some good news about the future.
I could probably read a whole book on that flattened blue scroll. For Milennials and older, our primal brain sees it and thinks: Important.

Just watched an old, pixilated episode of #ReadingRainbow last night for the love of @levarburton.bsky.social.
He's exactly right: it was a sanctuary.

Oh phew. Thanks, Susan.
That was about three more clicks than I would have guessed. Prefer it on home page as before.

Thank you. I expected it to be present but in the part about her youth it feels unending.
I have compassion for her, no question, but I do have a limit to reading about SA (nightmares, etc.) Am continuing to read out of respect for her.

* Pray on Sundays
Please excuse (embarrassing) typos in this thread. I was trying to represent the words accurately & type quickly. Partially my doing & partially autocorrect.
The thread got split-- I wish this was easier to do on Bluesky. But overall I hope you were able to appreciate intent. ๐ฟ

Senator Corey Booker comparing the President to Alabama Governor George Wallace, the ultimate villain of the #CivilRights Movement.
Quickly turns to quote #FrederickDouglass: "The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." โค๏ธโ๐ฅ

Rep. Andrรฉ D. Carson (left) speaking on his life: foundation was becoming unhoused as child due to mother's struggles with #MentalHealth. Grandmother's community leadership informed his activism. Went from Catholic school to becoming Muslim. Became police officer. Won Congressional seat. Wow!

Sen. Angela Alsobrooks asks us to read poem, "The Cold Within" by James Patrick Kinney. They are praying together before the Senator leaves for church.
Joined by Indiana Representative Andrรฉ D. Carson, 2nd Muslim member of Congress. ("The big, bold, and bald.")

Honestly, I did not wake up & foresee the blessings that this conversation & their presence is bringing today.

And now a "Senate Sandwich" with Becky Pringle, talking about Black faith and leadership. Ms. Pringle is the President of the National Education Association, the US' largest labor union.

Signed. Although I admit to being dubious about the efficacy of petitions at this point as, by definition, they indicate an interest and investment in public opinion and local democracy.
Will happily receive a cute doggo pic.

A month ago Trump also sent innocent man Neri Alvarado to El Salvador, a man whose autism awareness tattoo somehow got him tagged a "gang member." He's also being imprisoned incommunicado, with not even a proof of life allowed.
Family and friends in Venezuela recorded this heartbreaking video.
