A tragic day in Minnesota, a terrifying example for us all

In re: LRT, Minnesota is the opposite of a news desert - the Twin Cities has dozens of responsible news outlets staffed by incredibly professional journalists. They do not need your breathless, speculative assistance in covering this story. Post *local* coverage as it emerges, and ignore the noise.

Nation, if you see pictures of people protesting in Minnesota today, know that it has turned into a vigil, and we are doing it very afraid.

Just said "Conway's Law rules everything around me" and got smirks & head nods all around.

@safety.bsky.app @support.bsky.team ok I’m officially getting swamped with trash political accounts that are clearly fake. Is there a policy or practice of banning them? It’s been a 100+ in the last week.

I have a terrible product talk idea: Show me on the ladder where it hurts: visualizing product language and OKR practices for alignment and sanity

I realized something recently, which is that we're building AI tools completely backwards. While I was aware that there's some de-skilling happening already, I finally clicked a bunch of pieces together and decided to write this to talk about how we can do *better* hazelweakly.me/blog/stop-bu...

Prompts are the new dotfiles. This thought keeps coming up for me. There are great patterns to reuse, a natural urge to and value from sharing, but ultimately it’s a form of expression. Our configuration is incredibly personal nature, I’m noticing a pattern where prompts are in that same category.

Any others seeing a major uptick in followers? I’ve had 100 in 2 days and very few relate to my topics. FYI @support.bsky.team

"A fundamental misconception in product transformation is that everything must become a product." This point is essential, but can also be misleading. Here are two concrete examples of "not a product" needs turning into product needs: teamtopologies.com/news-blogs-n...

It feels good to share again. I've rebuilt my workflow using Obsidian + Hugo, but more importantly I've updated my *idea* of sharing to a lower friction digital garden. If you're looking to share your ideas more organically, I've documented my setup here 🌱 mbbroberg.fun/make-obsidia...

published another ai blog post. yes, it’s my second in a row. no, i’m not pivoting. i just accidentally started caring about protocols.

Good morning, Bluesky.

Just told a room full of newsroom execs and investigative journalists, hopefully coherently, to always start with human problems, do not add AI to their workflows uncritically, and to build and use technology according tot heir values, with a duty of care for their communities. Privileged to do so.

getting rid of employees is definitely not always a good business decision
