I'm a professor who studies the Jewish community. I've been working for three years on a study of how North American Jews interpret some commonly asked survey questions about Israel. I've gotten more hate mail from that project than anything I've done over the previous 20 years combined.

And unlike Jeter, Whitaker was *actually* a good defender, not just a flashy one. The Contemporary Baseball Era Committee's decision not to enshrine him in 2020 was even worse than BBWAA letting him drop off the ballot after a single year.

Yes I’ll happily include Dowd or Greenwald in that critique.

This isn't hard. It takes less effort to leave people alone than it does to be an asshole. Save your energy for actions that make a positive difference.

If you want to advocate for the rights of Palestinians, please do so. If you think a kosher grocery in Brookline has anything to do with any of the myriad ways Israel mistreats Palestinians, you're an idiot. If you think a brick through their window is an act of resistance, you're an antisemite.

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the Constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support, you don't have to go through with it. tel: 1-877-447-4487

The agents who assaulted the senator for asking questions.
The last person who laid hands on me like that ended up with several broken bones, but he didn't carry a badge. It's worse when public safety officers are the offenders because you can't fight back.
