Proud Minnesotan here to keep tabs on the destruction of our democracy (and participate in the resistance). Be forewarned: I don't respond to DMs asking "How are you doing?" from guys I don't know because I think it's a bit creepy. Pronouns: She/Her

Exactly. It's cute, but I'd worry about the dress getting tangled in the spokes!

I've always used "groovy" in an ironic way (since I was a teenager), because I've got a lot of older siblings and it was my way of mocking them. However, I realize now that any young person hearing me say "groovy" will just think it's my generation's slang, because to them I seem just as old... 🙄

I still use "awesome" for everything, because I'm apparently stuck in the 80s. Adding "tubular" (which is really silly, when it means "shaped like a tube") would add some much-needed whimsy. Totally tubular suggestion!

I get it, but I hope you're wrong, too. My siblings who voted for Trump think that all of the charges against him are lies made up by left-wing media. It's infuriating. I don't have a relationship with them anymore, but I hope to see them embrace reality at some point. The Epstein files could help.

I've run into this kind of arrogance, too. I don't know why the fallback assumption is that other people aren't doing their part. I actively voted AGAINST this sh*tshow in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and I don't owe anyone an explanation of the specific actions I'm taking against MAGA.

I think that because so many of them reside in a news vacuum that many truly aren't aware of all of MAGA's crimes--all they get is right-wing spin, which doesn't report on it. Granted, it's willful ignorance on their part, but I'll support anything that may make a difference in turning the tide.

So you're telling me that they've said they DON'T want to see Trump and the other perps prosecuted for this?

I believe that the GOP is a continuum of people, rather than one homogenous bucket. MAGA/QAnon has leveraged pedophilia as a key issue that they champion, so I think seeing FOTUS on the list could tip the scales for those who are on the cusp of abandoning the cult.

I think the victims would be thrilled with it, if it actually resulted in the guilty parties being prosecuted.

Exactly.

The reason we want the files released is so those who DON'T believe the victims will have some sort of proof. It doesn't mean we don't believe the victims ourselves. So, I disagree.

Agreed. Musk is not suddenly "the good guy." The reason we're all watching with such interest is merely because we hope to see them destroy each other.

True, but that happened during Trump's first term. Then Biden resurrected it, and then it immediately tanked again on Inauguration Day.

I totally agree. But it's not at all shocking or surprising for MAGA. That's all I meant with my original comment. Their actions are self-explanatory because in MAGAland, only white men are valued (even the most incompetent, like Trump and his cabinet).

Sorry, the word "art" doesn't belong in that response--it's an error from editing myself (I originally said it was "part" of the conversation about renaming the Harvey Milk. (I really wish there was an edit button.. Sigh.)

No, that wasn't what the deleted post said. It said Trump was considering RE-naming vessels that were already named after those people. It was referencing this art conversation about renaming the ship named after Harvey Milk.

When he said if he lost to Biden we’d never see him again!

Pretty self-explanatory, given MAGA ideology. It's not like they're pretending anymore...

Cis person asking: What is "I am queer enough"? Is this actually a concern for some? It never occurred to me that there was a litmus test for queerness. I'm just happy to take people at their word. (Note: I'm an ally who is genuinely asking--not trying to be a smart ass.)

This seems staggeringly naive to me. The country was doing well under Biden and what we're seeing now is Trump economics and the uncertainty and chaos will remain as long as Trump is in office. Ultimately, he's bad for business.
comment in response to

Agreed. And frankly, the Biden robot clone did a much better job of running the country than Trump, too!

Wait... Are you referring to the Day of Love? 🤣 Yes, it's difficult to keep the many, many crimes straight!

...but either should be disqualifying. Especially on top of, you know, multiple crimes.
