Did you read Victory Parade by Leela Corman? Sounds like they have some overlapping themes, and it has stayed with me for the entire year after reading it.

Inspectah Deck on Gang Starr's "Above the Clouds" is better than most albums. (I am also an UNCONTROLLED SUBSTANCE truther, but I suspect that album hasn't aged as well.)

It's from this recipe - I trust nearly everything on the NYT that has 4 stars!

I would look for books that you feel are similar to your text, and see who the author's agent is and which imprint published the book. Though I would recommend either submitting to agents or editors, but not both simultaneously (since an agent can't help if a text has been shopped already).

This feels like the best time to be writing stories that are authentic and truthful. And hopefully the books that we work on now will have a lasting impact beyond any administration!

I know it's tougher out there for picture book authors, but these feel like two different choices (and there's nothing wrong with submitting directly to smaller pubs, if that's what's best for the work!). Checking with authors that have already published with a pub can be super helpful.
