What if they get a base runner via dropped strike three?

And yet I think there is silver lining. I would much rather they be in the position to be pissed off walking into the clubhouse, knowing they were better than the outcome. Far too many games have been “Oh shucks we lost again”. Losing should suck.

Should just rent a condo in Pueblo for the rest of the season so that he can commute both ways

Really good stuff. Losing by 1 or 2 is still a loss, but it feels different. Might be manager change, might be new blood. Probably a combination of both. To your point on McMahon, every year he seems to get that hot month. Let’s hope it is right before the trade deadline.

If you can lose 50 out of 60, you can win 50 out of 60. .500 by August 20

Honestly - moving Jones and his .607 OPS this year after he trended down last year was maybe the best move they made- especially at a position where there is a logjam of talent I’m worried that year one Doyle was the real Doyle and year two was the aberration

Well said. I feel like you could tell AI to study the actions of the Rays and the lessons of Moneyball and tell us five things the Rockies should do tomorrow - and not a one of them would be on the schmidtlist

Is there anything more Rox than replacing the guy leading MLB in strikeouts with the guy who led the NL in strikeouts in 2020?

Episode 163. So exciting. Best episode I’ve ever attended.

When Harry Carey was out, the Cubs had a different celebrity sing during the stretch each game Do that, but with Manager of the Game. Will Farrell would do it. Peyton Manning. Jenny Cavnar. Chauncey If you’re gonna lose, find a way to make it fun - by accident they would probably win more than 6

Gonna be an opening at 20th and Blake after tonight…maybe a level higher than you aspire, but not by much

Yes. And McMahon, Stallings, Martini, and everyone else who won’t be on the roster in two years Logan‘s Run this thing. Anyone older than 29 is gone Hold open tryouts, the best local ball player who tries out before the end of May gets a contract

At least Ry Mac has started hitting

Cut him. Has there ever been a player who swings between great and terrible like him? Hoping that today is the day things start working is a terrible strategy. Gotta set the example of accountability for the young guys. Whats gonna happen - they gonna lose MORE games without him?

I’m pretty sure McMahon has had 1000 strikeouts this year

The best part of Rockies fandom is that every conversation between those of us who still care is like choosing whether you would rather rub a paper cut with a lime slice or drip Tabasco sauce in your eye Appreciate the conversation, Punk

I often come to Bud’s defense, SD weekend is the end. The questions for Bud would be: (1) how does him sitting help him see the ball better? (2) how does replacing him in the lineup with someone who has a worse BA help the team? (3) if you are going to play two catchers, why isn’t one Fulford?
comment in response to post
Clearly better to bench an elite glove young guy and shift people out of position so that Stallings can get some more ABs Has anyone ever mis-managed young talent worst than Bud?
comment in response to post
Let Bud take the train back to San Diego and stay there after Dodgers’ series - gross mis-management of talent
comment in response to post
Maybe the extra time gave him the opportunity to cook up the brilliant managerial move of using Stallings (BA .100) to pinch hit for Amador in a late-inning teachable moment Clearly no one wants a top prospect to get meaningful at bats with the game on the line

Thanks to Martini and Farmer, the run-less streak is over. You know who hasn’t struck out yet tonight? The three starters who didn’t come from within the Rockies system.

And the first team to do that and have the manager not lay into his sad-sack team
