Some cost of living support provisions were amended so those with NRPF could benefit (ie help with energy costs), but the cost of living payments for low-income households were reserved for those with recourse to public funds, says @ilonapin.bsky.social

I worry university researchers will not get the sympathy of the public due to skyrocketing tuition, cruel credentialism, and academia's seeming distance from everyday life. It's a misperception. Most academics are underpaid folks trying to advance and share knowledge, not fancy big-money profs.

Writing the book does feel like an eternal loop at times, but credit where it's due - there will be much citing of Leader and Mant in our work 🐍
