Padilla was in his home state for LA. He is the ranking member of Judiciary’s subcommittee on immigration, citizenship, and border safety, which has “oversight of federal agencies with citizenship, asylum, refugee, and immigration enforcement responsibilities.”

Just watched Sen Padilla's statement to the press outside the federal building in LA. It was emotional. The senator makes a key point - if this is how the administration treats a US senator for asking a question, imagine how they treat farm workers, construction workers, cooks, and ordinary people.

Not to go too far off on a tangent, here. But I can remember when Barack Obama's birth certificate (also not an immigrant) was a big deal for Trump, so.... Maybe it's good trolling??

yep. Not ONE of his four grandparents was born in the US. And, with his own five kids, only ONE has two US-born parents. (Didn't his grandfather own a brothel? And left Germany to avoid be conscripted into military service? Fine, fine legacy there... /s/)

Interesting question. I kinda think it will be someone unexpected. Someone not, or barely, on the political radar at this point. Godspeed, whoever it might be!!

Inhalers should be free to every asthma patient. It’s… life. As much as water. We should not have a price tag on staying alive.
