Update in East Los Angeles -
About 100 people protesting against federal detentions are now dancing to La Chona.
I cannot stress enough how much people love this song within Los Angeles. Just saw two dudes in Bloc twirling with each other.

Man here.
I haven't watched Tales of the Underworld.
I really need to fix that.

Why is this abusive asshole even discussed anymore? I'm so tired of everybody focusing on "talent" over character.

As long as Bluesky doesn't go the Twitter/Meta route, yes.

White folks, if you're wondering what your role is right now, it's at baseline to be like Chatty (as she was known by friends and family)

when my school reopened, our teacher sat down my majority Black and Brown classroom and told us that if we didn't like it here, we could go back to Africa
My mom and some other Black moms organized for her to be fired. Only one white mother stood with them, actress Conchata Ferrell.

I made sure to sing her praises in the survey and in front of her boss in person during that meeting.
It didn't hurt that our costs were going down thanks to them, as well. :D

My company recently switched our benefits provider. I had to reach out to them on the first day. Not only did the person I got in touch with help me and make sure everything was good, she was one of the people who drove up to our company the next day to help present the new coverage. /1

Nothing like people who aren't protesting (or have even left the country) telling those on the front lines how to behave.

Plenty of books to read and keep me off social media. I'm in.

There was an add-on to Bluesky that was supposed to block those screenshots, but I'm not sure how effective it is/was.

I remember when I first came here and "block, don't engage" was the mantra.
I feel like that's fading as more people come here.

Also, the great thing about social media is you can block people who make insultingly bad takes.

The guy's accused of sexual assault, credibly, and tried to silence the victims with a defamation lawsuit, which failed.
This isn't schtick. This is an abuser.
Also, "guessing" and "may even be"? If he hasn't apologized for his actions, he's not embarrassed.
Stop making excuses for an asshole.
