Tackle the tricky stuff before parents evening if it needs more than 10 minutes conversation.

They seem to work their magic on so many children, I’m looking forward to reading my first one!

This week’s TBR list. Not read any Diary of a Wimpy Kid before and one of my Year 5 class recommended it so it needs to be read!

Thank you! Hadn’t realised it was part of a series. Will investigate that first 📚. I’m meant to be reading and getting rid of books so from a big book case on my landing so it’s easier to move when decorating but this not really going to plan. 😁

Such an important book. They were real women who really existed and should be remembered as such.

Brilliant book! My dissertation was about religion vs science in Dracula. Happy reading! 🧛

Started this today. It’s brilliant - I was hooked from the first chapter

It’s brilliant! So well written and the way the characters explain different behaviours like stimming is just so good. It’s been on my TBR list for ages and then one of my class (Year 5) was reading it and asked me if I’d like to borrow it. I love my class of bookworms!

Started A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll this morning - half way through it already and it’s brilliant. Listening to A Court of Thorns and Roses on Audible by Sarah J Maas. The jury is out on that at the moment, it’s very repetitive.

I’m still listening to The Terror by Dan Simmons (3 hours left & it’s running out of characters 😬). This morning I’ve finished reading Podkin 0ne Ear by Kieran Larwood which was recommended by one of my Year 5s & it’s one of the best children’s books I’ve ever read!

Ooh! I’m intrigued! Thanks for the recommendation. Will add it to the TBR list.

Didn’t know the films had been based on a series of books. Will have to investigate. I can still remember watching the film (1960s version) and the shock of the ending (no spoilers in case someone seeing this doesn’t know…) !

I’m still on The Terror by Dan Simmons on Audible (which is so atmospheric) and just started reading The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix. Have also had a blind date with a book from my book club, Summer water by Sarah Moss which was great too. Aren’t books brilliant! 📚

I have again missed Monday but I’m still loving listening to The Terror by Dan Simmons on Audible and yesterday I started reading The Drift by CJ Tudor which is intriguing and isn’t quite what I thought it was going to be about…

Managed to miss this yesterday 🙈 Listening to The Terror by Dan Simmons on Audible (LOVED the tv adaptation) & I’m reading The Clinic by Kate Quinn. Still haven’t worked out who dunnit and I’m half way through. With my Year 5 class, we’re currently loving Treasure Island 🏴☠️

Fantastic! 🤩 Will most definitely be getting a copy! My 72 year old mum is a big fan of the Loki books. I lent her the first one when she was stuck in hospital a few years ago and she did a review for my Year 5 class 😂

I finished War Lord by Bernard Cornwell and I’m now bereft - I totally loved that series! New book to start tonight is The Clinic by Cate Quinn. Never read anything by her before.

These are great - I’ve got them and they’re great for starting conversations / supporting children. Last year we read them when it was story time and it made a massive difference to helping the children understand themselves and other people.

The curse of Fenric. I was 10, we were on holiday staying where the story was set (totally by accident) when it was shown on tv. The weather was rubbish so it just made it even more atmospheric. It was brilliant!
