I think I've identified the start up crash issue: It's related to tattoos on mermaids. If you remove the tattoo from your game but not from the mermaid before doing so, the game will crash when loading the save (or the game if it's the newest). This happens with CC tattoos but also with pack ones

This doesn't mean you can't use these sites. BUT it does mean that you need to pay attention to what you're downloading. Prioritize downloading directly from modders/creators and use something like ModGuard from @twistedmexi.bsky.social 🧵1/2 #thesims4 #ts4 #ts4mods #ts4cc
