I have fond memories of sitting in the bowels of RFK talking to him about the academy teams and what the vision could be for Loudoun.

Last time I checked, plagues don’t ask for papers before infecting you.

We may not have had the 14th and 15th amendments without Johnson, because the Congress might have thought just passing laws was sufficient.

Though historians think Johnson’s terribleness resulted in some good things from the rest of the party. thereconstructionera.com/would-recons...

I don’t know if it’s as much as the Radical Republicans (for anyone else reading this, those were the good guys at the time) wanted. But by all accounts, post-war Lincoln was much less likely to pardon every single confederate and pull out the military. Andrew Johnson was just terrible all around.

Come do Long Island next! GOP barely eked out congressional wins last year. Time to start building the ground game

The average family pays $25,000 a year for health care *access*, and then $1500 per person on visit fees, prescriptions, deductibles. Medicare For All would cost ~$5,000 per family and cover vision, mental health, dental, and prescriptions. That’s a $20,000 tax cut.

I fear I will need to do this as well. I’ve spent too much time out of La cultura and I feel my words slipping out of my brain.

They don’t have to be a Senator.
comment in response to post
That helps but you still need to convince people. “You’re right, here’s the problem to blame” is more convincing than “you’re wrong, I’m right, here’s why”.

It’s easier to tear things down than to build them. Easier to blame others than take blame. Progressives are still human and want to be “right,” when “mostly right” and “harm reduction” are what’s called for.

You have a constitutional privilege as a legislator under Article 1.
comment in response to post
You have absolute privilege under the constitution. Article I, Section 6, Clause 1: Congress. Go to the floor and call them out.
