governor people are being KIDNAPPED OFF THE STREET. when Marcelo was released you said you'd "keep speaking out" but speaking out is NOT ENOUGH what else are you going to do?????? are you going to protect us??? how many more people have to suffer before you do something REAL ABOUT THIS???

senator Warren my husband is afraid to go anywhere by himself because of stories like this. stop acting like we're just debating normal legislation. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. if blocking UC isn't the right way FIGURE OUT WHAT THE RIGHT WAY IS. www.nbcboston.com/news/local/w...

I just moved out to the suburbs from Revere and it sickens me that I have to be thankful we don't live in that area anymore simply because my husband (legal permanent resident) has brown skin. he doesn't even drive anywhere without me now. I hadn't seen this story until now and it just made me sob
comment in response to post
take a fucking cue from wu and try to act like an actual fucking leader who gives a shit about their constituents
comment in response to post
it's at the point where my husband doesn't drive anywhere without me, because at least having his white american wife there the goons are a LITTLE less likely to drive him to a cemetery and beat the shit out of him. and there are SO MANY fucking more people in our state without that privilege.
comment in response to post
except my husband and I do live in fear. even though he's a legal resident. SIMPLY because he has brown skin, and tattoos, and an accent. and because I read fucking stories like this and don't hear you say JACK SHIT about it www.nbcboston.com/news/local/w...

are you going to suggest anything else or just keep bitching?
comment in response to post
and you still have not suggested a SINGLE alternative so it really seems as though you genuinely believe what Democrats should be doing right now is nothing different from what they'd have been doing in 2006, or 2010, or 2022.
comment in response to post
let's be clear here: *I'M* not the one saying "do nothing" ...you're saying "yeah sure, do something, but not like that.....what? how? well how am I supposed to know?" like you sound like a narcissistic parent who says "well I guess I can't do ANYTHING right so I won't do anything at all!"
comment in response to post
that's super weird because I certainly remember a LOT of support for Green, for Bernie and AOC, for Van Hollen, and yes now for Padilla. because they actually did something *different*, incl from myself. like "there's no pleasing you" ???? literally just making shit up whole cloth
comment in response to post
like in what way are they acting AT ALL in proportion to the situation we're in right now? or you gonna tell me I'm being hysterical and overreacting and that actually it's fine and if the Senate just keeps voting like normal we'll just get to 26 and everything will be peachy?
comment in response to post
yet you suggest no alternative that IS effective, nor have they. so I guess they just sit around and wait for our new overlords to come drag us out of our homes for wrongthink, right? because if there's no way to be legislatively effective, there's NOTHING they can do, right?
comment in response to post
when you have a big ape beating its chest and wreaking havoc and 50 smaller apes rallying around it you don't stand in front of them saying "hmm yes these primates are behaving in quite a horrible manner, we should really ask them to settle down"
comment in response to post
and so what are the subject matter experts ACTUALLY fucking doing to signal that? holding up little signs? marching down to R offices to ask for investigations? writing letters? like.........if that shit isn't useless, they're doing a piss poor job if communicating it.
comment in response to post
that's not the point. the point isn't what blocking UC would actually *do* in terms of the functioning of the Senate the point is that Democrats are doing absolutely nothing to signal that they understand that we're facing an existential threat, and are willing to do something drastic
comment in response to post
senator Warren it's not time for an "investigation," the Republicans are wholly on board with this takeover. I don't know how many times we have to say, block UC and shut down the Senate ffs. there is an existential threat to all of us and you're still acting like it's George w Bush in office
comment in response to post
like did you think telling me "my country is bought and sold" was a substantive argument as if I don't fucking know what citizens united is? I genuinely can't understand where you think you've made a single substantive argument here.
comment in response to post
like I do not understand why it is so difficult for you to follow such a simple thread. let me make it very clear: 1. I am aware Harris would have had similar policies to Biden and done a similar amount of harm to Palestinians. 2. Biden is not Trump. 3. My argument is about Trump, not Biden.
comment in response to post
you have literally said nothing of substance. you linked an msnbc opinion piece that was wholly irrelevant to my point and just kept screeching about how she'd be the same as Biden ok???? yes???? I know???? that was never in dispute. the only dispute here was whether she would be worse than Trump
comment in response to post
yeah well unfortunately I don't have a fucking time machine so
comment in response to post
yeah because you can't fucking defend your position because it's indefensible.
comment in response to post
like don't you fucking think there would be a TINY bit more room to advocate for gaza if LITERALLY THE ENTIRE US GOVT WASNT GOING THROUGH AN AUTHORITARIAN COUP. hmmmmmmMmmmmMMMMM it's a complete mystery right????????..?
comment in response to post
it's also important to recognize that every fucking thing else people are dealing with here leaves activists with LESS TIME TO FOCUS ON GAZA because our fucking next door neighbors are being kidnapped by the gestapo.
comment in response to post
....yes because the exact same number of Palestinians would have inevitably died either way, right????? not a SINGLE PALESTINIAN could've been saved between January and now if we'd had someone who wasn't a naked authoritarian madman in charge of the United States not a single fucking one, right?
comment in response to post
quoted her saying WHAT? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT PROVES SHE WOULD BE WORSE THAN TRUMP.
comment in response to post
like you really don't see how fucking blatantly obvious that logical inconsistency is? jesus christ
comment in response to post
you, 5 minutes ago: "There is absolutely no difference between what is happening now in Palestine and what would be happening under [Harris]" is Biden still president? that's who you seem so intent on comparing her to, yet are making a pretty declarative statement about the current state of thing

says the genocidal creep advocating for the guy who is accelerating the genocide
comment in response to post
yes yes this is definitely definitive proof that Trump is exactly as bad as Harris would've been very good dear 👍
comment in response to post
"she would be no different than Trump!" *links an msnbc opinion piece about how she'd be no different than Biden* 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
comment in response to post
your buddy over here already linked this boo and it's compared Harris to BIDEN NOT TRUMP fucking idiotas
comment in response to post
a ceasefire vs "finish the job" HMMM HMMM WHICH COULD BE WORSE IDK ITS HARD TO TELL fucking baby brained
comment in response to post
www.theguardian.com/world/articl... now show me one of Trump saying anything remotely charitable about Palestinians, you literally fucking can't
comment in response to post
yeah she definitely quietly supported completely bulldozing the entirety of gaza and building a fucking resort (????????????) COMPLETELY fuckin baby brained
comment in response to post
"Let's dispel the myth that Harris will be any different from Biden on Gaza and Israel" BIDEN. NOT TRUMP.
comment in response to post
fuck off with this shit, you're not even fucking from here. WHO exactly do you think you're helping by bitching and moaning at us?
comment in response to post
did she gleefully talk about how she wanted to flatten Gaza and cleanse it of Palestinians or post an AI video of her with Netanyahu at her future Harris Hotel & Casino?
comment in response to post
voting isn't a fucking endorsement. and unfortunately in the US it's a binary choice. by advocating against harris you actively helped the guy who wants to completely ethnically cleanse Gaza and build a fucking resort casino. baby brained. it's fucking baby brained
comment in response to post
completely fuckin false and you know it
comment in response to post
....lesser evil than *Trump*, fucking obviously. it was a BINARY choice, there were only ever two possible outcomes, her or trump. whether you want to accept it or not, your position is literally one that says that Palestinian lives are expendable if we can't save them all. it's absurd
comment in response to post
Ok, glad those millions of Palestinian children's lives are unimportant enough to you that you figure we might as well just let twice as many die, since we can't keep them all alive. Very humanitarian of you
