If immigrants are lazy freeloaders who traveled hundred of miles to get here and enjoy the benefits of this country what does that make the lazy hicks who've done nothing to deserve their birthright?

Also gives them money for not selling products which has some adverse incentives

I think a lot of our moral values were also a long time ago necessary values. Lies had bigger consequences without consistent legal and civil ramifications and within an illiterate community fact checking lies was difficult. We are relearning that lies affect society.

Ok but it's literally not in our best interest for the president to take a 100 million dollar gift for his own personal use.

It's insane there was no court oversight he was arrested without any concept of due process it's absurd and the regime is just arresting people who speak out the releasing them and scotus made POTUS immune for this shit
comment in response to post
We've seen the right's respect for the constitution and courts. pretending this is definitely the end is naive.

The only way to get republican votes is by promising an invasion of Canada.

It's also the only attention Stewart has given to the bills, which in the interview are characterized as failures.

Yea but more importantly what is the effect of the order. Like is the fact states won't comply going to be used to delegitimize results or are they going to force states to follow a non law

It read like a choice to hit him when he was around innocent people namely his loved ones not just that they didn't care about "collateral damage." It's hard to read and not be cynical.

Shouting about the crimes imyour about to commit is becoming a good legal defense.

I don't know, 99% definitely have bank accounts but a shit ton of them have robin good and buy and sell stocks and crypto. Not saying crypto's not a ticking bomb but I think cuban has a small point.
comment in response to post
Yea but they don't care. words are there to give some kind of justification that reporters will just repeat.

I really appreciate the response! what do you think is the mechanism that would make people who see the 10 year rising to believe the deficit is too large? I just don't see how they'd make the connection

Man that seems like a correlation not causation issue. The amount of people knowledgeable about the yield plus probably 10 percent

We need a bunch of the small donors to buy a social media company or news network

I don't think he could have worded that better for people to not spend money

Right I was being a bit of an ass and if I'm being honest I'm hiding my hand a bit. Generally if the bad guy holds out i think he wins. Also, I think Jan. 6 was closer to a success than a mass peaceful protest in the us would be, which would look closer to protests that fizzle elsewhere, like in RU
comment in response to post
Could you explain that a little further? In the example do Americans know they're part of the cartel or do they believe they're the heroes
comment in response to post
I think that's fair
comment in response to post
"Cowardly ass" me saying you should have a realistic idea about what a mass protests will doesn't make me a threat any more than it makes you successful.
comment in response to post
Well no shit it's a reason that's made up. I'll make sure marx gets the memo. If you think that a large protest is going to stop this administration you're daydreaming. If you believe in the democratic process here it'll help push the narrative but don't lie to yourself what the likeliest outcome is
comment in response to post
I think that's the disagreement. Euromaiden the Velvet revolution have a nationalistic undercurrent when there is an overlord dictating policy. i think that's why they worked vs. Protest in Iran or russia where that dynamic doesn't exist.
comment in response to post
If you want change you should explain how what you're doing will get that change. Hoping the people with guns feel bad after killing some innocent people is absurd.
comment in response to post
I'm not saying no action but just pretending that a protest is going to win or stop what's happening is magical thinking.
comment in response to post
Lol sure

He can hurt people from the bunker without shooting protestors.
comment in response to post
What we all think will win out won't and isn't different from the Russian mass protests.
comment in response to post
There isn't a logical through line that says if they don't shoot protestors we win. the Arab spring only worked because the military was always in control in Egypt and considered Mubarak a liability. The Velvet revolution only worked as the Warsaw pact fell apart.
comment in response to post
The point is the bunker. He's safe there's nothing that can happen to him and the longer the protest goes on the less popular it becomes.
comment in response to post
Yea but at that point youre hoping for martyrs and that those martyrs somehow break the system. There is a way to overturn the government with mass protests with or without weapons but it's not peaceful.
comment in response to post
No it won't. The regime will just wait. This is a hard thing for people to hear but peaceful protests only work if the government is scared of escalation. this one isn't.
comment in response to post
Did it work!?

I guess I'm confused because the dissent also focused on the governments likelyhood to succeed which they implied was good

Didn't pelosi tear up her version of the speech in 2019 during trumps SOTU? What are we doing here. The current Dem leadership is bad the party might be addicted to some norms but that's not why they're unpopular.
