Lia Thomas was the best thing to ever happen to Riley Gaines and she'll never forgive her for it.

I guess the apology to trans people for suggesting they should be excluded and given their own category is coming later

I'm tired of having to coddle harry potter fans
if you have spent money on harry potter in the last five years, your money has contributed to the deaths of real trans people & the defense of their killers
that is a fact, don't celebrate a harry potter video game during pride month for fuck's sake

I think highlighting these tweets elides some crucial context, such as him palling around with a now-notorious detransmasc grifter and hinting towards that kind of political turn himself.
There's a full picture of why this is happening, and it's deeply opportunistic.

Rosie Duffield's now talking about an organisation leaving bottles of piss outside the EHRC in protest against them. Asks what needs to change so that the next chair doesn't experience that.

Falkner says "We recognise more than anyone else that certain groups may feel anxious about the meaning of such things" - but you just said that you couldn't understand why trans people had become fearful, which is it?

Christine Jardine says that the guidance lacks clarity, is leaving people in limbo, and is causing anxiety. Is new legislation needed?
Falkner does not answer the question and instead offers a timeline of the consultation.

Christine Jardine says many constituents have come to her confused about what the guidance means for them. How does the interim update comply with Goodwin vs UK 2002 that says trans people should not be left in gender limbo?

Catherine Fookes says that the update says that trans men should not be able to use the men's facilities and in some circumstances should not be allowed to use the women's either.
Falkner concedes that this is ambiguous and 'is not intended to be comprehensive analysis'.

Samantha Niblett asks how can the EHRC gain back the trust of the trans community?
Falkner again does not accept that the EHRC has lost the trust of trans people and bandies around the 81% satisfaction figure again.
