A coward dies a thousand times before his death... - William Shakespeare The cowardice and outright malice of the majority of Congress that abdicated its power, defanged itself, and failed to stop Trump from entering the US into another war: I won't forget it.

How common is it? I'm currently learning Portuguese and the slang is what is throwing me the most. One app--Brazilian-based Portuguese. The other--Portugal-based Portuguese. Each with a variety of regional dialects!

Que? Portuguese words for body parts existed in modern-day Portugal before potatoes did. Is there some other slang (Brazilian, perhaps) that I am unaware of? en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/panturr...

The Director of White House Personnel was subjected to the old has-no-background check. The gold standard for security clearances and access to highly-controlled information and places. And, only minimally different to the standard applied to other Admin appointees and their staff.

It also counters the BS narrative some of them cling to: "there were some good slave owners", which to my ears sounds like "but he was a gentle rapist"

Too many people approve of overturning the rule of law (see support for 34x convicted felon (so far), J6 pardons), and disrespect the Constitution.

US "military has built up forces in the Middle East in recent days...While the Pentagon said the military build-up is purely defensive, it better positions the U.S. should Trump decide to join Israeli attacks on Iran. It could also be a tactic to pressure Iran to capitulate or make concessions."

Seems Noem had a known allergy to the truth. After an accidental exposure, she was given a steady drip of Fox News and Newsmax and is said to be recovering.

Where is Sen. Mike Lee with his ultra-compassionate hot takes on this one?

MySpace, where you could rank and un-rank your besties (and falling out of someone's top 5 was ego death), add some sparkle, and force 10 seconds of some emo music to play when someone clicked your page. We were sweet, summer children then, eh?

Hold on to your heart. The season feels painfully relevant & prophetic. It's not. It's just that fascist authoritarianism follows similar patterns. Unfortunately, our societies don't upset patterns; too many are enablers/indifferent. It's a brilliant, cutting watch. Rebellions are built on hope!

Senator Mike Lee didn't just lie about the murders: he cruelly made a joke at the expense of the dead and injured. Apologizing, resigning, & retreating from public service is the least he should do. But it seems all he thinks is demanded of him is some mealy-mouthed post condemning violence.

Trump couldn't stand to be in the presence of an actual King.

Cry those alligator tears, FL MAGA Man. Nothing wrong with just a taste of what you voted for. Now imagine how your former workers and their families and friends feel, or is that a bridge too far for the self-pity committee head?

Hmm, weird. The Trump mobile network map says it only provides coverage in Russia and on Trump properties.
