Almost by definition, stable democracies do not allow agents of the state to operate under cover of concealment. Either that characterization is wrong - or we are no longer a stable democracy. Today's Triad from @jvl.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/the-secret...

This, not ideology, is actually the biggest divider in the party. It’s people who hide under the desk vs people who will fight, and there’s way too many desk hiders.

😳 #EndTheFossilFuelIndustry #RightFuckingNow

I think top Democrats know it would be a winning issue to attack super-rich exploitation of the poor and middle class, but the Dems choose not to do so because they hope for some loose change from the super-rich.

It’s not alleged. Three separate legal investigations at the state and federal level found he did these things.

EX-BIDEN STATE DEPT. SPOKESMAN MATTHEW MILLER: “It is without a doubt true Israel has committed war crimes… we have not seen them hold soldiers accountable.” SKY NEWS: “You wouldn’t have said that at the podium.”

"For 142 years, the merit-based civil service survived because both parties recognized that functional government requires professional expertise. That consensus is dead. We're watching the transformation of public servants into party servants, of a government of laws into a government of loyalty."

FUN FACT: Lindsey Graham can't swim, but over half the male sex workers he hires can.

FBI agents are now visiting Charlottesville’s public defenders *at their homes*. It’s naked intimidation of our justice system.

"The vast array of white papers and astroturfed podcast ideas betray the fact that Democrats still have little idea of how to talk to or connect with a significant segment of the country."

No, blowing up the military airplanes the enemy is using to indiscriminately attack civilian population centers and infrastructure is not a "Terror attack." It prevents terror attacks. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I will never take the whining of a Trump supporter seriously on this matter. It’s laughable. Also, all politicians should be bullied aggressively. They work for us.

Great job on a softball interview, @davidpogue.bsky.social

We do not know, for instance, just how much data Musk’s gang of pimple-faced coders stole while they were ransacking federal departments or how much of that data related to Musk’s businesses. https://trib.al/PyYFEfe

My buddy Lindsay Boylan happens to be one of the MANY women former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo preyed on, during his time in office. We were chit chatting the other day and, she put things SO damn plainly: “White Feminism [will] kill us all if we let it.” — @lindseyboylan.bsky.social ✨

This will be in textbooks. Ukraine secretly delivered FPV drones and wooden mobile cabins into Russia. The drones were hidden under the roofs of the cabins, which were later mounted on trucks. 1/

A big takeaway for me from all this MUSK/DOGE 'departure' news and reporting is how absolutely predictable this all was! the goal was the rapid unscheduled disassembly of the government by a group of people led by a callous, ignorant man who believes he can solve any problem and consolidate power

Whether Elon Musk is serious about leaving whatever the fuck he was doing, everyone should remember that in the early stages of DOGE, he and his teenage accomplices ransacked, copied, and absconded with almost every US citizen’s most private information. The largest crime spree in history.

There's a strong competition for "biggest disappointment in Democratic politics" but Polis is really making a run for it

"Few opportunities like this have ever existed for an opposition party. And yet, in the 48 hours since Musk let his dissatisfaction be known, Democrats don’t appear to be doing much at all to capitalize on it." ICYMI @cheetah.bsky.social:

This party is a rotting corpse.

From @nytopinion.nytimes.com: Elon Musk “apparently did not anticipate that it would be bad PR for the world’s richest man to take food and medicine from the world’s poorest children,” our columnist Michelle Goldberg writes.

Great piece on Musk’s drug use in NYT, now do Trump. I promise you Elon isn’t the only one on Adderall in the White House. Follow up at their joint presser with a question about last Trump term’s WH Pharmacy and his drug chronic addiction. Ask about Doc Ronnie, I dare you, MSM.

OPM memo: Fed job applicants must now pledge in writing to implement Trump's political agenda. The final step in the Authoritarian playbook on the civil service: ✅ Purges disguised as "efficiency" ✅ Gut oversight agencies ✅ Weaken regulatory enforcement ➡️ Replace experts with loyalists ← UNDERWAY

Someone hacked the personal cellphone of White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and impersonated her in texts and calls (possibly with an AI voice clone) to leading Republicans and corporate executives: www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

As I've said before, what we're dealing with fundamentally here, and have been dealing with for some time, is evil. Our political norms and political media prohibit talking about a mainstream political faction this way. But it is the truth. It needs to be known and it needs to be said.
