The author forgot to say that it's nice to be able to follow good content creators without having to scroll past so many nasty trolls. Moderation makes the whole experience much more civil and dissenting views are great as long as they are not hate filled invectives.

Trump is not smart enough to have an actual plan. He acts entirely on selfish, petty, gut instinct to eliminate any opposition to his thought of the moment. Unfortunately he hired Stephen Miller and Russ Vought, who do have plans.

Kind of crazy hearing the chief 2021 insurrectionist say that his administration has zero tolerance for violence directed at law officers doing their jobs. I guess Jan 6 was not violence, it was a love fest.

You would think that this would be so clear that nobody would ever support a dumb idea like this...yet you have almost complete silence from Trump's House and Senate supporters as well as his base. I'm not sure if will ever publicly denounce these policies. What happened to our country?

No, that is a full sentence in Trump world. Toddlers don't complete their sentences

They have made a few agreements to make agreements to eventually make a deal, which might get us back to where we were before there was a need to do this. In other news I have also made plans to make plans to find a way to make a billion dollars. Same time frame as the tariff deals.

The US advised UKR not to accept the Russian terms back in 2021. Now those terms are even harsher, mainy people are dead/injured, infrastructure is destroyed. You can debate what is fair but this is the reality and fairness is not part of the equation nor was it ever.

the bigger problem is that Russia is winning the war and short of the US and Eur sending in both troops (not happening) and way more weapons (they are in short supply) UKR is going to be destroyed. It might not be fair but in the end this is going to end entirely on Russian terms.

The admins answer is neither. We need to focus on only performative actions that keep the base energized while Trump and Elon make sure the regulatory agencies won't touch their business. Oh , get rid of all those terrible illegals who work on our farms and low paying jobs. So much winning.

Or we would work on bringing back all the nuclear weapons limitations treatise we signed and gave up on over the years. We could work on more actively bringing peace and not war. Or we could try to build a system that is likely to overun cost/budget and still not work well.

Trump has always been 100% performative starting well before 2016. He works entirely on his (and only his instincts) with complete disregard for facts, details, and outcomes. It's entirely a show put on by a naricissist. Everything else he does follow from this.

Even if Trump had a decision once on the tariff level and stuck with it I would think it's too early for the effects to really hit. Inventories have to empty. Component imports for final products need to be recieved and installed. The flip flopping will make any large company avoid any final decision

The costs analysis will be conducted in units of pencils and dolls.

Another brilliant idea from the Stable Genius. No wonder the only businesses he has that are profitable are based on grift.

You may lord over him but he will fling a lethal barrage of Dick and Dad jokes back so the battle for supremacy will be intense.

Escape to where? Europe has a great life style for those who already have money. They are no longer driving innovation in any significant way and most of the countries are pretty weak. There is a growing right wing movement there too as people as not happy with things. So stay and fight.

Trump 2.0 rollercoaster - twice the bumps and curves at 10 times the cost and the rollercoaster has no brakes.

The problem this guy is such a narcissist and so accustomed to lying that he actually believes what he says.

I think economists should do a thorough supply and demand study on the optimal number of dolls and pencils. Just fascinating insight from our Stable Genious

Well smart, in a narrow sense. He did come up with some good ideas in some of his companies and he did figure out how to grow Tesla and SpaceX into useful companies. I have to give him credit for that. Zero empathy and refusing to believe he is ever wrong seem to make him a poor public servant.

I thought the answer is to eat an edible. Or you could have one edible for every 2000 points of loss in the DOW

To be fair everybody thinks Navarro is an idiot. So no great credit to Elon here though better to start with baby steps in moving in any positive direction. I'm waiting for Elon to take back the thousands of cruel tweets he sent and publically apologize (tick, tick....wait not going to happen).

Voted! I look forward to each podcast and truly appreciate the mix of humor and insight on mostly serious topics. #1 podcast to listen to when I walk my dogs....

Cass is basically stating the plan from Stephen Miran (mentioned in the article), which, while far outside of almost all economists ideas, is a much more targeted and controlled (but very untested) plan. But expecting Trump to have understood it is pure fantasy. Its a massive gamble with the economy
