I think the Catholic Church should do this every day in every city

This whole "imbroglio" could be avoided if ICE agents were required to wear uniforms and identify themselves, a tradition in law enforcement for the past few centuries

Anyone who has actually researched and written anything knows this obvious fact

Back when Facebook and Twitter were fun, this was the feature that made it fun. The algorithms make everything worse because they prioritize mindless conflict.

Following one of the worst attacks ever on American soil, the president didn’t bother catching the perpetrator. Gave up the search after several months. But as a substitute, he invaded a totally different country that had nothing to do with it. I wish it wasn’t this bad, but it really was.

The anti-abortion movement and what it has wrought is more horrifying than any horror movie. It is a rejection of the dignity of life and a mockery of human wellbeing

The only guy I affirmatively want to hear from when it comes to AI and art production is Brian Eno

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles

When your public officials are regularly being arrested by the ruling party for interfering with illegal acts, that's not democracy

Huh, who could have predicted? Besides, you know, anyone with a rudimentary grasp of economic policy

Seems apt to point out, given this statement, that it was President Donald Trump who ordered USA to withdraw from the agreement that was preventing Iran from getting close to a nuke in the first place. You made this mess in the first place Donnie

Important and accurate thread

The gunman no doubt thought of himself as a good person, as someone who was pro-life, but his ideology brought him to a place where he shot 17 bullets into a couple who got into politics to help get health insurance for his daughter, who has spina bifida.

I wonder how a right-wing movement that blasts its enemies as "socialists" can explain why its government is exerting such control over the means of production www.nytimes.com/2025/06/15/b...

This is an egregiously shameful tweet from a US senator

Bravo this sign.

Pelosi recently missed being assassinated and her husband was almost killed but mainstream media are so far gone they quickly downplayed the political murder attempts. Now another Dem leader and her husband are dead and still most of what we will hear about tomorrow is the fascist’s parade.

assassinations, handcuffing a senator at press conference, marines detaining a civilian, and a military parade for the president’s birthday. rough week for democracy.

What happened in Minnesota is a direct consequence of the violent way that Trump talks about his political opponents.

Trumps America

Governor JB Pritzker said to Rep. Mary Miller: "I am not going to be lectured to by somebody who extols the virtue of Hitler." Finally, someone says it to their faces.

We drill into military officers that Members of Congress have Constitutional oversight rights, Members outrank four-stars in protocol, and even Congressional staffers are treated like generals/admirals. To see sworn federal officers manhandle and handcuff a U.S. Senator... I'm still shook up.

Agree on both points. 1) States control most criminal prosecutions. Calif state charges for physical assault OF A US SENATOR in state's biggest city. 2) Dems in US Senate need to stand up on this one. This didn't happen even in days Faubus/Wallace/Maddox/Bull Conner resisted fed authority in 60s

The state of California needs to arrest the DHS "security" forces for assault and every Democrat in the U.S. Senate needs to sign onto a campaign to impeach Kristi Noem. Right fucking now.

the salient point here is not who he is, but the fact that he did not commit any crime.

Utterly lawless. These agents do not deserve the title of law enforcement. Violently arresting a sitting senator for objecting to the regime's legally dubious takeover of core state functions in order to crush peaceful protests. Authoritarian in every way.

I think California needs to start arresting Feds. drastic but we’re there.

Robert E. Lee and his men killed over 110,000 US Army soldiers. Here's why that same Army must rename its military bases after him. by Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth

Me thinks the Obergruppenführer doth protest too much.

Genetic material shed by tumors can be detected in the bloodstream three years before cancer diagnosis, according to a study led by investigators at Johns Hopkins University. That study was made possible with federal funding. Now, many studies like this are canceled. hub.jhu.edu/2025/06/04/...

Uhhh...the cause they were fighting for was unmistakably evil, and in no way should be glorified.

I’ve never forgotten this picture from 2016 and how it completely reshaped my understanding of how the media covers protests.

Counterpoint: Robert E. Lee was a treasonous loser who gladly slaughtered his fellow Americans in defense of slavery while being a mildly above average military tactician. He should’ve been hanged in Lexington.

W.E.B. Du Bois on Robert E. Lee: “Either he knew what slavery meant when he helped maim and murder thousands in its defense, or he did not. If he did not he was a fool. If he did, Robert Lee was a traitor and a rebel–not indeed to his country, but to humanity and humanity’s God.”

this footage of employees from a Santa Ana mexican restaurant giving food and bottles of water to national guard troops is *chef’s kiss* youtu.be/HyH4o2GsqkM?...
