A 🇨🇦ian. Using this account to check on trending news and to add snarky posts and replies when the mood strikes. Probably won't make active use of Bluesky until they improve the user experience. Fed: #Poilinever, #Carney AB: #🚫UCP

Body-slamming? Is Jesse "The Body" Ventura back in politics?

So, #ICE has emerged as Trump's Gestapo. I was wondering which organization would fill that role, since every authoritarian govt needs one. But ICE has decided it wants to be this fascist's police force. And foreign prisons have become this regime's eventual concentration camps.

It's the Protestants (Baptists, evangelicals, Presbyterians) that are firmly in the Trump cult, not so much the Catholics.

Literally Bob Pope. awesome!

I'm not convinced she can actually move.

Just woke up. Saw Lindsey Graham was trending. Thought, "What kiss-ass Trump-thing is he promoting now?" This did not disappoint.

Seems someone didn't want to get DOGE'd from their posh White House job.

Scrolling past. I thought, "Why is Mr. Bean trending?"

Won't these American doctors start lobbying for privatized healthcare? So that they can continue to keep earning their gobs of money?

Correct. He'll just call it fake news and then move on to threatening tariffs on any country that buys Toblerones from Switzerland or Slovakia.

Still a neck and neck race with Poillinever. Either way it looks like a minority gov for one or the other. I prefer minorities to majorities. Much harder for the victorious party to run roughshod. Cooperation is necessary.

I'm thinking that the trans prefix triggers the doddering old fool. Soon he'll be banning transatlantic flights and other forms of transportation.

You'd be surprised what a military will do under threat of execution. Trump's new cadre of generals will simply execute any soldier who disobeys an order. This is why Trump brought in loyalist generals.

Or perhaps just Google "how to create custom lists and feeds on blueSky"
comment in response to post
You have to create lists and then add accounts into each list. I found it impossible to do on mobile, but was having some success on my desktop. I was making a friends list and a news list, with only need orgs I trust in the news list. You then create feeds and add lists to them.

Gotta agree. Arnazon.corn shouldn't be given creative control of anything. Look at Rings of Power. Even a billion dollars couldn't make that thing entertaining. Or their massive New World game, which was a massive bore.

I'll be curious to see how Bluesky responds, when and if that happens.

I decided to check again, although I don't know what problem you've been having. Your Jean Ziegler news post was successful. I clicked that and the entire article loaded just fine in a new browser tab. I've been posting a few links to YouTube vids, so I'm not sure that qualifies as posting news.

The following just popped up in my Bluesky feed (I follow SciFri) and thought it might be of interest to you in your field of expertise. Another short avenue of procrastination. www.sciencefriday.com/segments/the...

It's been running for years, so there is lots to procrastinate to. I linked you to chapter one, the first strip.

I'm not very good at procrastinating online either. My favored procrastinating spot is the couch, listening to documentaries Ior old Johnny Carson eps. But this is an online comic I've greatly enjoyed, and which I think you'd enjoy based on your love of nerdy pop culture. www.gunnerkrigg.com?p=1

Hilarious. Exceptionally fitting for an expert in the study of palliative care.

What? You mean Crimea won't be rebuilt into the Riviera of the Black Sea?

Canada stopped minting pennies 13 years ago (all cash transactions are rounded down to the nearest nickel). It's a good idea. Though Trump certainly didn't come to the idea on his own, mostly because he's so incredibly stupid.

The only way to get rid of Musk right now, is if Trump feels diminished by him. This will hopefully work in that regard.

I clicked through to the article and got a full article.

Two years. support.google.com/accounts/ans... I have mine set to delete entirely after six months of disuse. I rarely go a day without accessing some aspect of my Google account, so if I actually go six months, then something very final has happened to me, either the 🧠 cancer or a speeding 🚌. 🤪

Ruby's is my favorite. I've explored a lot of her music because of that cover. She's great. Try this one: youtu.be/ZBBsyqewYx0?...

Awesome. I've been waiting for the few folks I'm following here to start posting as they did on the Facebook. Have you convinced the entire Wolanski clan to follow you to Bluesky yet?

What is the "something better?" This sounds somewhat Trumpian. You have the concept of a plan.

Pics and video in DMs? Only between accounts that follow each other, otherwise this service will quickly become UnsolicitedDickPic.com (I hope that's not an actual website)

Remove the antiquated 300 character limit. And allow us to edit our posts and replies.
comment in response to post
I also ran into a 300 character limit on both replies and posts in the last couple days (hell, the post I'm replying too, I had to prune like hell before I could post). There's no good reason to have a small character limit.

I think the court's ruling on that is self evident now. It will be a big fat yes.

Same encounter. Moose just moseyed on by. Kenna didn't bark once. I think she just instinctively knew that you don't piss off a moose.
