There was not a lot in that ArcSys Direct for me, but Daisuke WAS SPITTING about the game industry. Hearing that gave me a lot of hope for ArcSys' future and in turn felt very fitting for a first direct since it is clear the company is going in a slightly new direction.

i am uncomfortable with the idea of calling a video game console that can still be factory reset and still play the majority of games "bricked" because someone was thick enough to try to run a piracy cartridge's "switch 2 bypass" firmware on it. really feels like promoting the idea of ewaste

we have commodified everything. games, movies, everything. its all formulas and tests and feedback. with its history and art design, marathon should have been a singleplayer shooter, or at least shipped with a singleplayer campaign. but those numbers wouldn't stack up the way executives want.
