On July 13, 1977 - New York City was plunged into darkness. Trains screeched to a halt, airports were shut down and baseball games were forced to postpone. For 24hrs NY was a virtual ghost town & looters paradise.

GOODFELLAS (1990) As much as the painting might seem like it was dreamed up by the filmmakers, in fact it was based on a photograph by Adam Woolfitt from the November 1978 issue of National Geographic, where it was part of a feature on the River Shannon in Ireland.
