both of his parents are immigrants his mother’s success as a film maker is an amazing story in and of itself, his father found success as an educator and provided for his family and yet here you are minimizing these accomplishments by painting them as some sort of dynasty disgusting

As good as ever.

Can somebody please tell me when Michael Vaughn has finished his stint on #TMS so that I can listen again? Thanks #ENGvIND

Happy “Make yourselves poorer and more isolated” day… £40Bn ongoing hit to economy and 10% inward investment drop confirmed… But hey ho… Who needs economic strength or strategic clout when you have super-special-sovereignty? 9 years on. And stupider every year. www.thetimes.com/business-mon...

1984 Doublespeak at it's finest. Sending UK jets apparently "reinforce(s) the urgent need for de-escalation". George will be spinning

Today is the anniversary of Jo Cox's murder by a white supremacist eight years ago on her way to a surgery in Birstall in her constituency whose ethnic diversity she praised in her maiden speech to the Commons. She was a supporter of Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East.

I think part of the LLM-Hype is that we all can be managers now. Not knowing anything, not doing anything, but telling others to go and produce a result we can then happily attribute to ourselves.

Here's something I post from time to time. My answer to a reader who asked me: what could journalists do NOW to break with some of their more corrosive habits.

Here's what we are reading today: Marco Rubio marked Russia Day by expressing U.S.' support for the Russian people and reaffirming the U.S.' "constructive engagement" with Russia to bring "peace between Russia and Ukraine." This is the 1st time the U.S. has marked Russia Day.

Well, this one has certainly 'done the numbers'. -16k Likes etc. I thought the allusion to the 'Troubles' and indeed Bloody Sunday was too subtle, but it seems not. Troops are not civil police and have little training in public order. Deploying troops against civilians is never a good thing.

I'm running the Great North Run again in September, for @actionfdn.bsky.social. Last year we drummed up over £1000, BUT I was on Twitter then, and now I'm not. WE'RE ON OUR OWN HERE, BLUESKY. Please donate, and RT the living shit out of this. Ta! ajbellgreatnorthrun2025.enthuse.com/pf/richard-s...

Hell yes, Greenland sends a giant middle finger to the orange felon after signing a lucrative minerals deal with the European Union. Love this level of humiliation.

The man with the nuclear codes walked into a wall. 😬

I make a point of not sharing it otherwise amplifying anything from this despicable person. But I’m making an exception to highlight his utter immorality and indecency.

Very ashamed today of Starmer/Labour's comments about 'island of strangers' and 'incalculable damage'. It's the job of the government to leave the country in a better place than they found it, not to appeal to the base instincts of a nation in order simply to carry on governing.

"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."

from the article: "We are the federal law,” Trump spluttered, adding “you better do it because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.” “We'll see you in court,” Mills replied. “Good, I'll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one,” he raged.

The government was wrong to cut winter fuel payments. It was wrong to keep the 2-child benefit cap. It was wrong to slash disability benefits. Pushing people into poverty is the wrong thing to do. The right thing to do is redistribute wealth and power so that everyone can live in dignity.

This is both ridiculous and chilling - Trump either deluded or just determined to impose his lie on the world. White House reporters should continue to ask about this until the administration admits the truth

Glorious. Beautiful. Game changing. Wake up with a song of joy in your heart.

Donald Trump fired a gun at the economy and the bullet is moving very slowly but it cannot be put back in the barrel

Vance's Easter visit to Rome clogged its streets with a 40-vehicle entourage. He also demanded the Coliseum be closed so he and his family could tour it alone. Tourists who properly booked slots in advance got screwed. He's apparently the first to make that demand. Then he didn't bother to show up.

ICYMI: Georgetown Law students made a 853-row spreadsheet of Trump-caving firms. It drew national headlines. Recruiters noticed some talent looked elsewhere. Firms lobbied to change their designation. An organizer tells @www.AllRiseNews.com the background www.allrisenews.com/p/skadden-st...

SORRY. Sorry. Have we seen this *incredible* news video coming out of Queensland? Wait for the witness/witnesses statement

‘The whole policy is wrong’: rebellion among Labour MPs grows over £5bn benefits cut to people with disabilities. The policy is cruel. Tax the rich. Fuel the rebellion. Insist on seeing your MP face to face. Tell him/her to vote against the bill.

Sen. Chuck Schumer pledged “extraordinary action” should Trump ever defy a Supreme Court order. “Extraordinary action,” to Schumer, is apparently a tweet. www.jezebel.com/well-well-we...

There is a point to Europe that is greater than simply trying to stay on the right side of the US.

We had to pay Mirror Group Newspapers for the rights to this error. We were using it to transform it into something else. And we paid. To licence gibberish. Because it belonged to someone. That’s more than the biggest corporations in the world did to any author whose work they stole to build LLMs.

The idea that the fascists cannot be defeated is the core of all fascist propaganda if you are spreading it you are spreading fascist propaganda it's as simple as that Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism. If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone. Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

When you think of what the US state has at its disposal, totalitarianism does not look impossible: - Facial recognition technology - Armed drones, that can take out marked people - A propaganda system already enmeshed in our lives (social media) - Militias ready to become death squads Resist now.

Last month, I sent the below letter to David Lammy. Today, a war crimes complaint against 10 Britons who served with the IDF is being submitted to the Met. I repeat my call: the govt must set out how it will hold any UK nationals implicated in war crimes in Palestine to account.

I defy anyone to look at this and still say integration isn't working in the UK.

This seems like a bad idea
