None of it used yet ? ๐ค
BYD for example have a R&D department numbering 10 of thousands of scientists / engineers. Bet they are absorbing all that info - who knows what it can trigger?

But what exactly are "Grid Forming Transformers" ?
It's not a conventional IEEE or CIGRE term ?

OK, so you will have rooftop PV to drive your cooling? A school of thought says plan for time when diurnal swings reduce. Maximum overnight temps are breaking records.

The days of having large diurnal temperature swings are probably over too ?
Time for the #PassivHaus with filters and MVR air handling

OK, that's why 24/7 Carbon-free Energy is interesting. We can call it hourly matching and then it's all about the money ๐

Can old coal-fired gen sets be converted into syncons. EPRI may have done some work in this area?

While it's not a full Local Area Energy Plan replacement, it works to:

And the interesting thing to me is that this is part of a paradigm shift to local energy autonomy with microgrids that stabilize themselves with grid forming inverters, superseding the old inertia of fossil systems.

I still need to pin down the look-ahead aspect, and maybe the machine-2-machine interface. Probably all very possible

Is there any way for a machine-to-machine interface to download day-ahead data into, for example, a microgrid controller ?

With Emmet Kiberd, we estimate that outside of London, England faces an annual public investment gap of ยฃ15.6bn in transport and active travel infrastructure. ยฃ11.8bn in social housing. ยฃ3.4bn in housing retrofit. ยฃ1.4bn in local energy. East Midlands needs the most investment. 2/5

Together they covered key points:
โ
How community ownership puts value back into local communities
โ
The need for meaningful land reform to support local energy projects
โ
A just transition away from fossil fuels that doesnโt concentrate power and profits in the hands of a few big energy companies
