You can take the girl out of the Midwest, but you can't take the desire for cheap housing out of the girl. She/her!

I’m going to make a thread about how the feds have changed their tactics here in Los Angeles because the community has forced them to adapt.

So uh, when's the Rock Against Trump album coming out?

They’re going to try to make you feel insane for opposing this war. They’ll ignore protests and downplay any opposition. They’ll try to strongarm you into submission. They did it with Iraq and they’ll do it again. And then a few years later they’ll pretend they were with you all along.

Your reminder to call your Senator now and demand that they invoke the Byrd Rule and strip the transgender medicaid ban from Trump's spending and tax bill. Call them here. www.senate.gov/states/MD/in...

Hey everyone. I've heard this now from multiple people. Passport offices are refusing to comply with the court order to issue passports to trans folks and change gender markers.

I keep saying this, but a fundamental problem with this moment is that the two other branches are rolling over and playing dead, and the founders just did not think that people would do that! www.lawdork.com/p/trump-is-s...

The regime has posted signs at Manzanar, the WWII concentration camp for Japanese Americans, asking visitors to report "negative" historical interpretations. Hard to imagine a positive interpretation but it's probably just an excuse to shut down the park. www.sfgate.com/california-p...

please do this for your trans friends.

Today is the last day to comment on a proposed Department of Energy rule change that would end accessibility requirements for new buildings or major renovations funded with federal money. The article below has a link on how to comment and suggested language.

What's next? Here's some information from Erica Chenoweth's research. "...contemporary movements tend to over-rely on mass demonstrations while neglecting other techniques—such as general strikes and mass civil disobedience—that can more forcefully disrupt a regime’s stability."

can’t believe this still needs to be said, but: stop following altNPS. none of them work for the NPS and they exist to do Qanon numbers station crap and sell merch. it’s annoying for a lot of us that are actually NPS. thanks

1/2: Agree & disagree here. You CAN go back to work Monday. But also, yes, protests must be sustained. In Portland BLM forced a number of concessions, but they did it by being out every night for nearly 3 months. That doesn't mean that everyone comes back every day. Crowds varied from 1k to 15k.

I don't say this to downplay the protests. It's great to see people out there. What I am saying is that if people think peaceful protest once a month waiving a few signs will topple or hamstring the regime, they're sorely mistaken. You need something like euromaidan to put a stop to this.

So basically the protests were peaceful except that two competing cop departments accidentally went to war with each other

That was what needed to happen today. Fascists depend on the appearance of strength, and they have never looked weaker. Good job, friends.

Reminder that most "red" states have a sizable population who're gerrymandered out of power. Support those who resist!

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

We need *mass* mobilization in the U.S. right now, and I think that people who are somehow still focused on sneering at Perfidious Wine Mom Liberals are profoundly unserious

- Senate resumes business - Multiple nominations and motions asking for unanimous consent - No objections - Senate adjourns until after the military parade But Democrats finally recognized the moment and got off some great tweets and skeets, right?

"In the past week, a union leader has been arrested, a U.S. Rep charged with a crime, a U.S. Senator violently handcuffed, and reporters shot with rubber bullets and detained." Y'all ready to get going on this General Strike thing yet?

Update: We've removed the paywall for all ye who enter.

I can't explain to you how wild it is to be in LA right now. National news is covering protests as riots, even though the violence is coming from the LEO side. It's chaos, but also totally quiet here in my neighborhood. Kristi Noem's saying she's gonna liberate us & they just arrested my Senator.

I just did this. You can too. Tell them that after what's happened to Padilla, they need to deny unanimous consent and use every other tool to shut the Senate down. Find your senators at reps.fyi

58 years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled on the side of our clients Mildred and Richard Loving, legalizing interracial marriages nationwide. This Loving Day, we honor the generations of families who were torn apart by anti-miscegenation laws and celebrate the couple that changed history.

I know this is a hugely recommended brand so please check your devices!

Getting whiplash from this regime, man

I'ma tell you all what I tell my clients. You feel bad because it is bad. You are unmotivated to go to work because the world is on fire & the government is sending people to kidnap children and adults & maiming people who try to stop them. You are having a normal reaction to obscene circumstances.

This is what ATTEMPTED dictatorship looks like. What happens next will determine if it succeeds.

There seems to be a lot of folklore and misinformation circulating around tear gas. If anyone will take the word of an organic/medicinal chemist with over 40 years in the lab, then here comes my chemical advice:
