You can take the girl out of the Midwest, but you can't take the desire for cheap housing out of the girl. She/her!

You may not be seeing protests or hearing about big raids anymore. That’s because the feds are now doing smaller operations & getting fewer people. Every action we’ve done in LA, from blocking freeways to tailing vehicles, is making them spend time & energy on US & not on kidnapping our neighbors.

This dramatic shift over the course of two weeks is because LA has robust mutual aid networks & strong neighborhood communities that are informed & unafraid to stand up to federal agents. We have forced them to hide & be sneaky because they know hundreds will show up to stop them if they don’t.

I think about this a lot. I'm just about the youngest you can be and still remember life before 9/11 and the security state, a contrast that helped shape my entire political perspective, and I'm in my mid-30s. About half the population is now younger than I am.

I'm worried folks might think I'm serious, but this is basically a dark joke + warning. I remember the counterculture opposition to the Iraq/Afghan wars, massive antiwar protests (but mostly JUST protests), and the idea that good antiwar rock was coming back. But Rock Against Bush came out in 2004.

US passports didn't denote gender until 1976, and they have a photo on them anyway. legacy.lambdalegal.org/sites/defaul...

Under no circumstance should you allow passport officers to keep and withhold your current valid passport from you if you are at an in person appointment.

I think people should hold off until the ACLU can issue an update on what the situation is.

CSB video intros get me unreasonably hyped about Murica and chemical safety. One of them literally has an eagle rebuild an oil refinery, then perch atop an American flag. They're a national treasure that we need to protect at all costs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFhk...

Where nonviolent protest has toppled regimes, they needed hundreds of thousands in the streets for weeks on end, paralyzing the economy Ave the basic functioning of the government. They needed to be willing to confront police and defend themselves from anti riot measures such as tear gas.

What is the point of disability legislation if they no longer have to follow it?

This needs to be acted on right away – contract your congresspeople because it will take effect on June 16, if there is no common.

Shut down the Senate before it's too late. At this rate, they're gonna arrest you just for posting stuff like this.

Riot munitions are meant to be skipped off the ground and shot into you by police and federal forces. If you are sitting, they will fucking kill you do not listen to anyone telling you to sit down in a mass rally.

Then help us mobilize folks. We’ve just launched our strike fund through the LA chapter, but every state, and hopefully town, needs this to have a successful strike. People in positions of power keep calling for us to do something, but we’re trying. You’re just not listening.
