A neighborhood bar makes a deep fried cheese coney as a monthly special. (Usually February) I’ve eaten it once and it was glorious. I fear that if I have it again though my heart will give up. It does look similar to a burrito so perhaps if you’re in Cincinnati in February it will call to you.

What is the point of anybody attending the press briefings anymore? Even if they were to answer a reporter’s question you can’t count on them to tell the truth. White House press corps needs to stand up against how this administration treats them.

What side is Rep Roger Williams on? Joining Israel’s war against Iran, for reasons counter to our own intelligence community’s findings is against US interests.

He should resign.
And Politico should stop carrying water for this rogue regime by pretending this is normal. I suppose that’s not what their owners want though.

You(RFK Jr) have publicly stated that you would not follow your own health advice. Given your own admission of incompetence why have you not yet resigned as head of Health and Human Services?

Every judge’s confirmation hearing should feature the questions: “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Federalist Society?” “Have you ever accepted gifts from any billionaire?” “If one were to offer such gifts would you consider it an attempt to unduly influence your decisions?”

Except the insofar as the waitstaff’s salaries assume they’ll be tipped and more generally all staff’s salaries necessitate the use of social welfare programs. Capital attempts to under compensate labor at every opportunity. But that’s a different conversation.

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

What use is a press pass when the administration responds to any critical questions by trashing the questioner and/or their employer?

Facing? It’s already cooked. Bezos is making business deals with MBS, the man that ordered the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, formerly a reporter for the Washington Post. What an insult to Bezos’s employees.

Follow up should be “Do you mean to imply that someone in your agency made these cuts without your authorization? We should start a congressional investigation”

Lack of confidence in continued access to abortion is why my fiancée and I have effectively decided not to have children. We are in our upper 30’s so shouldn’t wait for the next administration and she has a medical condition increasing her risk for serious complications. Too many things can go wrong

If that’s their strategy get ready for Reform to take over. Across the pond that was more or less the Democrat’s strategy against Trump and look at us now.

These are people that believe empathy is weakness, sin, or both. (Based on their own public statements) They want the US to be a nation of psychopaths.

Historically It’s amazing the large number of government officials that support the rise of authoritarianism in their countries wind up getting killed by the regime they help put in place. Republican representatives and senators should consider this when deciding what’s in their own self-interests.

When he makes his presidential run as is his ambition, Newsom has already lost my vote for abandoning LGBT folks. this attitude towards unhoused people cements that. The Democratic Party cannot win by forsaking its ideals. Democrats must be the party of empathy and our shared humanity.

To those saying democrats should ignore this issue. What do you call a fair weather “ally” that won’t defend you because it’s inconvenient? Not an ally.

Imagine using the bathroom and a security guard barges in and pulls you out after you’ve been accused of being trans. This has happened to multiple cis women already. We’re all in the same struggle and we need to act like it.

Yup, libraries are about more than just books. Mine will let you borrow a telescope, use their 3d printer, button makers, vinyl printers/cutters, laser cutters/engravers and quite a bit more. You can even borrow laptops for on site use. Well worth knowing what your local library has on offer.
comment in response to

Won’t really help with the grow room issue, but many metro public library systems in the US have “maker spaces” that you can use their 3d printers for the cost of materials. (For now while they’re still being funded) Not convenient for all but it would help some folks.

I’d call it desperation rather than resilience. Think about who the people making most stock trades are and who they supported last November. They’re grasping at any hint that things won’t be as bad as they’ve been warned to the point they’re willing to believe “200 deals” Leavitt and Trump.

What’s wrong with me is the direct parallels between the US federal government’s actions now and what Nazi Germany did in the early 1930’s. We’re not saying we’re at the death camp stage yet but what could become death camps if allowed to continue. The Nazis started with a deportation plan first too

Do you endorse CECOT? Do you endorse the US making contract with the dictator running it to send people there? The US gov. is using a foreign prison as a place to send undesireables. For similar reasons as Nazi Germany used concentration camps located in foreign countries to avoid domestic laws.
