We all know it's coming, nobody wants it, but they have to do it or else they'll get pelters. They should talk to some of the fans and face the reaction head on. But they won't.

Some still value the followers they've accumulated on X, no matter how toxic!
comment in response to

True, I'm yet to see any outright abuse on here. If there was, I imagine it'd be snuffed out
comment in response to

More prominent accounts will create an account over here as well, eventually. But loads are reluctant to leave X altogether. Especially if they have crazy follower numbers

Talented, but the maturity of a 15 year-old judging by his recent comments.

He's a good egg, is Vitor Pereira

We just need to sign players who;
a) are good enough
b) clearly want to be HERE specifically, and stick around
c) are motivated by success rather than money
Easy!! 😂

After the way fans mobilised to protest the BSkyB takeover in '99, I'm sure we could've derailed the Glazers when they swooped in, if there was enough influential backing behind the protest. Sir Alex would've been the ultimate voice ðŸ˜

I'm sure there's a role for Mainoo. He's United through and through. And he's young and talented enough to adapt. But I get your point. It reminds me of Danny Welbeck; gutted he left, but he wasn't good enough at the time.
If we lose the Manchester core though, what's the point?

I haven't seen that, and I won't go looking for it either! 😡 Where's our club gone?? ðŸ˜
comment in response to

Yeah that's my experience as well. United interactions were with kids over there. The grown-ups are over here!
comment in response to
post
I hope it's that simple. There are many players who are just not good enough as well. But I suspect there are some who can't be arsed as well.
comment in response to
post
All of that I understand. But when the Glazers came in and he was still the main man, he didn't echo the fans at all. And the race horse rubbish in the background, that was far from ideal

I look at Chelsea now, and they're not Chelsea really. They're a collection of assets, commodities, on long contracts for bullshit amortisation and PSR/FFP. Their youth players nurtured and then sold specifically to fund the model. A talent farm. I hate it.
Fund the academy! Make it better!

Loads of accounts are terrified of coming across as political by being on Bluesky. And yet, would rather exist among Nazis? Such a weird place.
comment in response to
post
Definitely. I get that he didn't want to undermine any managers by speaking out too much after retirement. But he was still the boss for 8 years after the Glazers arrived and never once voiced an opinion. That's pretty shit for someone claiming to care about the club.
comment in response to
post
Yeah I found myself missing that too! The football side of Bluesky is catching up, mainly cos so many organisations are scared of making the jump. They need to man up and stop mingling with Nazis
comment in response to

Funny how high follower numbers doesn't necessarily mean good quality followers. I prefer that. Bluesky will only improve I reckon.
comment in response to
post
Absolutely this! Fewer followers here but 99% are genuine, engaging, and thoroughly nice.
I'm basically describing you, Marit!

I know some still see leaving X as a political statement. Which it definitely is for many. But for pure user experience alone, the place is a bin fire.
For the record, I appreciate you and your takes on here, mate!

Nah, we should always collect and cherish the good eggs. The rotten ones we should never have touched in the first place, even if they were shiny on the outside.
comment in response to
post
Exactly. Who wants "success at any cost"?? Nah, screw that. My club has a heart. Sir Matt would've despised the Glazers. It pisses me off that Sir Alex just let them run roughshod over everything without a peep.
comment in response to

We'd basically become Chelsea

Corporate accounts are terrified of what kind of statement moving to Bsky makes. As if it suddenly makes them left-leaning and "woke".
Being in and around the "Nazi bar" is somehow less damaging to their PR than creating a Bsky account. Bonkers!
comment in response to
post
It's a great analogy Philippe. And I think the sooner users like us permanently delete our now-dormant X accounts, the more we'll see X become irrelevant.
Numbers matter. As things stand, X user data is being inflated massively by those still outside the Nazi bar.

So many levels of gimmickry and disrespect for the game. Infantino is an insufferable weasel

So chuffed for him

I hope you're right about the recruitment. My cynical, downtrodden self refuses to believe we have anything planned behind the scenes. But wow, if we ever needed a clear recruitment plan, it's now.
comment in response to

They have, definitely. There was a time he seemed the best in his position, certainly in the league. But I dunno, he's not the most endearing character. Rumours are that he's the one leaking stuff to the media.
comment in response to
post
Agreed but who would take on his wages and injury risk??
comment in response to
post
I hope you're right. But those at the top need to trust them to do their jobs. Sir Jim isn't a football guy, he's a businessman. Let the football guys do their thing.
comment in response to

He was also right in that you can achieve this within a year with smart recruitment. Bring in people that match the culture you want to foster. We've never operated like that!!

Wish I shared your confidence. Been on such a downer today.

Luke Shaw is hurting for Luke Shaw, and Luke Shaw alone.

We'd need Bournemouth's scouting team as well, gotta get creative on our new budget

Wasn't a Spurs dig. More a dig at The Athletic

Maguire's been a leader and a fighter, in a team of zero of either. I'd keep him for another season for that alone.

We'd better start scouting creatively then
