This is a little-known hack for many of life’s little obstacles:
“When in doubt, take an ice cream break.”

Growing up in DFW, a friend and I once rode this thing 12-15 times in a row. There was never a line (in mid/late 1980s).

$15 for headphones? You must have been in an entirely different economic stratum than I was!

Plus it was a miracle that you could hear ANYTHING over the lawnmower noise when listening on a pair of these bad boys

Could be a quote from Rogue One.
Could be a quote from Andor s1e6 (a dying Nemik navigating them out of Aldhani)

Maybe someday this entire professionally-shot film of The Wall concert will be officially released. Wouldn’t that be amazing?

There have been no reports of “looters” in L.A. despite what Trump says here.

We need to teach people that there are outcomes worse than death

I have told my family on multiple occasions that they’ll know I have received a terminal diagnosis when I sit down to eat a bucket of fried chicken and a half-gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Love it! (You’re killing me, though—I’m still trying to make it through the Stereolab and King Gizzard playlists!)

If I’m 95 years old (demented or not) there better not be any tubes or wires anywhere near me. Just give me a bucket of fried chicken and let me be.

I’ve been here since late 2023, but I dumped Elon’s Twitter for good immediately after the election.

Anyway, it was quite the collection of scowling, neck-tattooed Manly Men™️.
I suppose the marketing team knows its target audience.

My question for these people is this: “Did you, at any point during the 2024 election cycle, believe that Haitian migrants were eating people’s pets?” Because if so they are either willfully bigoted, hopelessly gullible, or possibly both.

Anyway, I got back the money they owed me, but I wonder how long it would have taken to receive that refund if I hadn’t dug around and asked for it.
This shady, convoluted accounting is far too common, and frankly it’s more complicated than the average healthcare consumer is likely to understand.

Do I called the PHP and explained, and they confirmed that, yes, the insurance plan had not assigned our deductible to them. And they had record of our large deductible payment (good!), and we were owed a refund of $2100+.
SO IF THEY KNEW THEY OWED US A REFUND, WHY HADN’T THEY PAID IT YET?!??

Fast forward to May (last week). Hospital #1 starts sending us bills which show that we owe them the $3000 deductible, plus a little more. We explained that we already paid the deductible to the PHP, and they explained that the insurance plan was (correctly) assigning the deductible to hospital #1.

Then 3 days after discharge, he was admitted to a partial hospitalization program. They quoted us the up-front cost of the 8-week program, taking into account what our insurance plan would pay. And since we had technically had not yet met the deductible, we were expected to pay that. We did.

So… my son was in the hospital in very early January. Four days, I think. When we checked out, they asked for no money (even though I knew we would be on the hook for the full $3000 deductible. But the hospital said they would bill the insurance plan first, and bill us later. Great.

I don’t feel like we see Cassian ever really have to deal with the death of one of his closest friends. It’s a shame them killed him off.

Also, I felt like writer’s objective of the first three-part story was simply to get B2EMO and Brasso out of the picture for the rest of the series. (Like, “we wish we had left them back on Ferrix, but we didn’t, so we have to deal with them.)

I wouldn’t have minded the jungle story so much if it had been more closely tied to something else. We don’t know WHY he’s stealing the ship. We don’t know WHY these other rebels are there (it feels a bit “Lord of the Flies”).

The oddest thing for me is that at the beginning of RO Jyn Erso is clearly the protagonist and Andor is this untrustworthy killer who is a threat to Jyn. Watching RO immediately after Andor is a bit disconcerting, because we view Andor as the hero, not a potential threat.
