I presume that our French imports are also nearly all nuclear generated? (Also can reform voters somehow specify they don’t want to use the French kw?)

EU will watch how this plays with Republican politicians in midwest - China has just torched 50% of their soybean exports. Do we see steps for House to take back tariff approval from Trump (pretence of some ropey national emergency guff at the moment)

I guess Soy Beans the most challenging aspect for CCP to manage? About half of US soy exports make up about 20% of China imports? - Political impact in midwest is going to be appalling for Trump.

oh clear on that, but its a super useful test to observe for us!

It's certainly helpful to Europe for China to go first with the flamethrower approach and see what the response is. Didn't Trump threaten to increase his tariffs further if anyone dared do this?
comment in response to
post
Presume the EU (non)move here should be to sit tight and see what response the flamethrower approach elicits?

Yep the signal data being encrypted is all fine, but how the drunken copy pasting and keystrokes were done is going to be really bad.

Just the sheer weirdness of a supposedly fast maturing market that *loses* OpenAI money on every $200per month subscription.....

We could mix a little bit of human sick into European chocolate for that distinctive hersheys smell?

I'd be very cautious of that, just based on how China treats their relationships with smaller developing countries.....

what's left of US-Russia trade to tariff though?

Suspect this is only the start (and it is the most existential part, for sure). Today they are fucking about with access to COMMERCIALLY available sat imagery - the kind of stunt we all got freaked out that the Chinese might pull one day.

I genuinely think the lowest effort / highest reward strategy for Europe would be to personally gift him €10bn to do whatever we want, or very little at all - put the US on autopilot for 4 years. UK could chip in with St Andrews maybe. He's that stupid and venal.

The search for strategy in response to his words, and now actions, is starting to drive me mad. May as well try to interrogate why a dog is licking his own balls.

I could imagine a UK lag here - there is ALOT of personal leasing in the UK, so depending on when sales are recorded (presume its registration dates), with average leasing lead times of around 12 weeks - this could be orders placed before Musk went full beserker?
