The wider US political system is clearly incapable of dealing with corruption being out in the open.

Clearly not the most important thing, but: Why is Mark Wahlberg Godzilla?

Utterly delighted to be able to listen to this. Have been a big admirer of your work for a long time and wish you thoroughly-well-deserved success in this endeavour.

Wonderful, congratulations!

Exactly! How else are you gonna distinguish it from book on a table?

Ha, yes, 100% I very much enjoyed _playing_ Doom dark ages but every time there was a cutscene I couldn’t help but think the same: didn’t you make Doom 2016 where almost literally at the first sniff of plot exposition the doom guy just shuts it off and it was perfect?!

I also worry that “abolish income tax” sounds appealing to a lot of people who don’t realise quite how regressive are consumption taxes. Trump’s also the kind of charlatan that could sell such a change as “hurting him” while saving him and his oligarchs unfathomable amounts.

This is exactly why Xbox failed :-)

It’s almost as funny as it painful to watch the right finally reap what they’ve being sowing for so long

Yeah, very much. What was weird for me was that going into it I sort of expected that would be the thrust of it, but after sitting through an hour of it I’m not sure I have the stomach to watch any more right now… at least for a little while.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a thought expressed on the Internet is in need of a bunch of random people completely missing the point…

If only this wasn’t so universally applicable…

Such a good episode, but for me it’s gotta be You Only Move Twice. Ever seen a man say goodbye to a shoe? Yes, once.

Exactly. What counts is what you do when there are political consequences for your actions. He’s clearly one foot out the door now, so the cost to him is zero

It is difficult for a Republican senator to understand that which her re-election relies on her not understanding.

I saw someone quip something to effect of “Elon Musk is a huge reason why my next car will be electric and why it won’t be a Tesla” and after previously really wanting a Tesla for many years (since Roadster days) that’s very much my position

but Trump’s policies might add another zero his bank balance… it’s difficult for a man to object to batshit fucking crazy health policies when his net worth depends on him not doing so

It worked for me, but the fact you didn’t also take this opportunity to rick roll the entire platform is frankly disappointing :-)

I think of all the vacuous, hate-filled bile spewing from the right and their enabling tech bros, “virtue signalling” is the one that hits me hardest. How have we allowed the very worst people to turn empathy into a vice.

I recently came back to painting after probably 20 years away and I just couldn’t believe how good the miniatures are now They now look like how I imagined they looked when I was a kid but they definitely did not that good when I was younger 😂

One of my all time favourite TV moments is in Wrong Trousers when he removes the rubber glove and Wallace exclaims “it’s you!”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the biggest problem with the politic right is that they hold so much institutional power and are so fucking stupid :-)

As someone who started their career just as this work was being wrapped-up I thought the article was fairly good, even if their use of “live up to the hype” was needlessly provocative.
