Ah - a newcomer! Some of us can recall its introduction in 1974 between Foot of Leith Walk & Wester Hailes before it blossomed into the full blown circle in 1975. And having to get out during a blizzard on Mortonhall Rd and help attempt to push the thing ...

As a starter - the first list of Corpie bus routes post-tram abandonment from 1957. I'll dig out an early tram route number list later!

The Graving Dock as built : 1933 ad by the joint builders Nuttall & Mowlem from the Southern Railway's "Over the Points" magazine for July 1933 - the Southern spent vast sums on developing the port & docks at Southampton.

I used to love the half-crown - bought you a Ladybird Book or a Matchbox toy! The ten shilling note was a special birhday present - says he who once accidently burnt one when I ripped open the envelope, took the card out, threw the envelope on the fire, then read "enjoy your 10/- ...

Spot on I'd say! Also marking the moment when one of the Museum's longest serving members of staff, a photo curator who knows who they are, retires after decades of service. @version3point1.co.uk

I can't find it online anywhere - it is in the BFI video set of BTF films in Vol. 15, Life on the Line. It was apparently the last BTF production shot on film.

Yes it would have been Kensington Olympia; the Motorail terminal was the proposed site for the Eurotunnel car terminal. I've a memory that it was also anyhow the backup station for Waterloo & that basic immigration facilities were in place 'just in case'.

There you go! Yes, it appears to have been the case that MK was mocked up, badly, for Olympia International!

This issue has long amused me. Funny how Birmingham managed to run thousands of Daimler Fleetlines! I've chatted to many ex-LT folk over the years & one thing that does get mentioned is that LT was so set up to maintain 'their' AEC designs they struggled to adapt to anything else!

We moved from Lancs to W Brom in 1965 so I recall various sections of the M6 through Staffs & Cheshire gradually being opened, the old A34 & A50 before that. You'll like this I suspect!

The train is in the original Picc line tunnel that has been 'demolished' inside the new running tunnels & crossovers - this allowed the new NB Vic to use existing SB PIcc platform to give same direction cross-platform interchange. Brought into use overnight - height diff reflects falling gradient.

Watching the various contemporary films and documentaries about the construction of the Vic line (or anything else!) it really does make you wonder! Flat caps, bowler hats, ciggies in mouth as steel swings around and trains pass by within inches. The night of the Finsbury Park changeover.

That's a polite way of saying I have too much old junk! But yes, we do like Eric Fraser's Therm family - there was a Miss Therm, a boat belonging to the Howden Gasworks Fishing Club I'm told! Anyhow, a skipping Mr Therm to say good night!

May be that it's disused but it's still not a good look for an operator.
