It's not debatable. An attack on a sovereign state, especially one considered to be at war, is an act of war.
But let's look at it another way. Russia bombs a US nuclear site, is that to be considered an act of war, or just an "operation "?

I made the mistake of parking on White Moss a few years ago, cost me 11 quid for a little over 3 hours. Never again.

Hmm, isn't an "operation" in this context, a part of an ongoing war? Or even a declaration of war?
Surely attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war, one which can't be prettied up by the use of flowery words such as "operation".

Yeah, but don't forget, this is coming from the country who shouted (and continue to shout) "commie" at everything that wasn't "conservative" during the witch hunts.

Bottom of the Quay at the start of the path to Glasson. There was quite a fight for it to finally be awarded town green status. It's far from being a great woodland photography wise, but it's a lovely space. And there's ongoing planting of natives and wildflowers.

There's an incredible show of hawthorn in Freeman's wood in Lancaster, Mike. Branches are being weighed down under the weight of blossom and the scent is almost overwhelming.

Cut them out of your life.
I know that sounds incredibly harsh, but experience should tell us all that talking people out a certain mindsets is incredibly hard and rarely succeeds, they'll just dig their heels in and hurt you more.

I think you do. You almost certainly don't like what it's going to take, but you do know.

Thank you, yes. I've actually photographed this scene many times and you need to be in place at just the right time, it's a narrow window between the sun rising into position and it moving behind the mountain above. This is only ever back-lit early in the morning.

Considering there's been no rain for a couple of weeks, the sudden leap into life has been stunning to watch unfold. And now the oak are coming to join the party, so next week should be interesting too.

We managed this in mid winter. Many other towns and cities saw massive demos on the same day.
Honestly, I think the turnout for Sanders and Harris was fantastic. But after 4 months, this should be huge and happening almost constantly.

This is great and all, but 35k is an average premier league football attendance every single Saturday during the season here in the UK. It's just 1.2% of the city's population. Your uprising is going to need to be much much bigger.

Don't get me wrong, I was over the moon that they ran the tories out of town, but my conscience wouldn't allow me to vote for them, which is a shame because my local mp has been ace, she works really hard within the community.

The reason why I didn't vote Labour for only the 2nd time in my life and cancelled my membership was because the writing was very much on the wall.
How they still have the gall to describe themselves as a democratic socialist party is beyond me.

This just continues the whole "isn't Boris great, he's just a loveable fool" mistake millions made.
No, Boris isn't negligent or inept, everything he does is done deliberately.
And it's the same with Trump.

It's a nice reminder that I really need to go back soon, too! Not sure if you've ever been up to Newbiggin Crags, but it's well worth a look, similar limestone pavement formations and some great trees. Very local to me and another place I keep forgetting to go back to. I blame the Lakes 🤣

I'm fairly sure I've photographed these two chaps before. Not as well as this mind!

Indeed. But I think there's something much deeper and darker at play than a type of Stockholm syndrome. Trump's political opposition has fallen almost completely silent. There appears to be no real will at a high level to lead any cohesive backlash. You're being hung out to dry.

Obviously the person who blocked me after calling me an idiot and "part of the problem" can't see this because they blocked me. But I'm lightyears away from being any part of America's problem, which, like it or not, was caused by apathy and misogyny, not some bloke in the UK. Own your shit, USA.

Exactly what I mean when I say that he's running by Hitler's playbook. And exactly why it's going to take much much more than a few thousand folk standing on street corners waving placards.

As I said, we watched hundreds of similar videos every day during Biden's tenure, we saw dozens and dozens of legal challenges fail.
You get back to me when this changes anything.
And the fact remains, apathy and misogyny lost the election.

Thankfully I don't live in the USA. But it never ceases to amaze me that many of you seem to be surprised by this. Many of us around the world have been warning about your impending fascist for the best part of 10 years. It comes as no surprise to us.

You know, not so very long ago we saw "shocking proof that Biden stole the election" videos every single bloody day for 4 years.
Apathy stole the election, "i ain't voting for no woman" stole the election. Not trump.
Be better.

What trump and DOGE under musk are doing doesn't really need much in the way of qualifications and competency. Smashing things that took many decades to build needs little more than a few big hammers and the skill to swing them!

I'm afraid that soon won't be soon enough. The fascist takeover is almost complete. And the entire planet may have to deal with what potentially could come next.

2/ isn't going to be good enough. Direct action on an enormous scale are going to be needed. And even then, it's highly unlikely that trump will bend he'll just sign more edicts, further eroding any and all of your constitutional rights. This is exactly how Hitler did it, it's his playbook.

Oh I know some Americans are protesting, but there are few signs of anything cohesive, very little, away from social media, in the way of resistance. In a country of 340 million, these protests and resistance need to be registering in the 10s of millions. A couple of thousand here and there 1/

As someone looking in from the outside, there are very few signs that this "eventually " is ever going to happen. You as a country had the power to stop this in its tracks by not electing trump but apathy and an unwillingness to elect a (black) woman put paid to that.
That same apathy is even 1/

I was merely pointing out that you were wrong in your assertion that all, or most of our infrastructure is usa owned.
Of course most should be under public ownership but at this present moment in time, I'll settle for them not being US owned/controlled.
