Democrats have overwhelmingly supported militarizing the police and using those forces on protesters, ever since Black Lives Matters. You're on the wrong side, Senator.

Considering the police & the state are usually the ones to instigate violence against protesters, w/ video to prove it, you're directing this statement at the wrong people. Just like when dogs & fire hoses were turned on folks during the Civil Rights movement for supposedly rioting & being violent.

I think if it truly comes down to a full on the people vs the military scenario, my money is on the people. Our military is not big enough and it honestly isn't all that successful historically.

Yeah, dog was a bad example. Maybe raccoon would have been better since they are cute too. It just makes me sad that bats have such a strong association with rabies in so many people's minds. 😢

A human life will always be prioritized over an animal's when there is the potential for rabies, so if your dumb ass was cuddling a wild animal that you "rescued" on Instagram, congrats you just killed that animal.

Very true, but I do find it interesting that folks generally don't seem to treat stray cats and dogs with the same caution.

Remember Peanuts the squirrel? The right got all up in arms about the squirrel being taken and killed, but it was because you don't fuck around with rabies. The irresponsible person keeping Peanuts as a pet was responsible for its death.

Also, and something I think folks don't consider often is, the only way to test for rabies is to kill the animal & test its brain, so when you handle a bat or any critter w/o proper precautions, you are putting that animal's life at risk.

But a stray dog could just as easily be an exposure possibility.

The reason bats get a bad rep is because bats with rabies are most likely to end up among humans and in places they shouldn't be because the disease has disoriented them.

Fun fact-- the opossum is less likely to get rabies because its body temperature is too low. Still, any mammal can put you at risk.

Spite gets stuff done.

Our government in general does not care about public safety or violence, since you'll only condemn the violence of your political opponents & not the violence facilitated by your own party, both in Gaza and the people protesting that genocide.
