Because players win in difficult environments all the time. Less talented Leafs teams went deeper several times between 1993 and 2002. It says something about the players that anyone is blaming fans.

It's two different scenarios but the scenarios are whether the home team wins or loses Game 5. Not all the series involved get to Game 7
