Unfortunately, I suspect it will be 5:4 or 6:3 in favour of Donald, maybe even going as far to grant him carte blanche to have mass layoffs across the Federal Government and its Agencies.

Trump's unlikely to either sell it or give it away for free - but giving it away as a reward for buying several multiples of the car's value in his memecoin? Far more likely... 😈

Even step one is going to be impossible - especially as any sufficiently determined child will find ways around age gates (and geographic restrictions) - including borrowing their parents' credit/debit cards...

Conservative / Reform voters likely believe that (a) it's got something to do with the EU (so intrinsically evil in their eyes) and (b) its sole purpose is to prevent deportation of foreign criminals on "family life" grounds.

ICT have just posted an update on the corporate Intranet: "Hi everyone, There is currently an issue with the DNS that is affecting multiple systems. Our teams are already investigating the issue and we will update you all when we know more. Sorry for the inconvenience." Yup, "It's ALWAYS DNS!" 😁

He also doesn't agree with "all of the premise" of her question, which basically translates as "we won't overtly criticise anything the Israeli government says or does, never mind restrict business dealings with them, lest we be accused of AS" 🙄

Our approach to Covid also led to a much steeper and deeper fall than the average...

There's also a surprising lack of RANDOM all caps words - maybe that unTruth was ghost written?

"targeting an intelligent centre-Right readership which is not currently well-served" - are they throwing shade at The Times there? (There's probably some debate about the intelligence of the Mail, Express and Sun readership...)

... and soak up a decent proportion of any savings with the increased cost of administering them (and using "AI" will likely lead to costs being diverted to the appeals process rather than genuine savings).

Also with welfare benefits over here: add ever-increasing terms, conditions and exclusions to both claiming and maintaining them in the hope it will deter those "playing the system", when in reality it's more likely to demotivate genuine claimants, penalise those who are "too" honest...

My phone (Oneplus Nord 2) purportedly has AI instructions on its CPU to handle automatic scene recognition - something cameras have been about to do for decades without needing the "AI" label... 🤦

MS in particular seems to want to shoehorn Copilot into everything - even humble Notepad and Paint haven't been spared the Copilot integration button...

Exclusion aside, I have a sneaky suspicion the kind of activities the current Administration think are "fun" would be regarded as anything but by most children not indoctrinated into the MAGA cult...

Also, you have a very large voting window: "At the Grand Final, voting will open just before the first song is performed, and will remain open until approximately 40 minutes after the last song has been presented." eurovision.tv/vote
comment in response to post
Oh yes you can... "Viewers can submit their vote by phone call, SMS or via the official app. They can vote up to 20 times." eurovision.tv/about/how-it...
comment in response to post
One of the many bizarre aspects of Eurovision is that apparently, each distinct phone number is allowed to vote up to 20 times. I've seen speculation that those voting for musical reasons are likely to vote once or twice, while those voting for political reasons are likely to vote multiple times.

Note that he claims he thinks there's a cis woman in the protest, but doesn't identify her... a pretty strong indicator he can't tell (also: engagement bait, as his followers are likely to debate who they think the cis woman is /cis women are in the comments).

He's a sort of weather vane, albeit one that can't turn towards the left, who he presumably regards as an irrelevance and incapable of determining elections. Only the Conservatives and Reform are threats worth bothering about in his eyes; and not Greens, Lib Dems or Abstainers.
comment in response to post
Fun fact: Labour actually received half a million *fewer* votes in 2024 than in 2019, but were propelled to a landslide due to the Conservatives losing 7 million votes (Oh, and Con + Reform combined were 3 million fewer than Con + Brexit combined).
comment in response to post
Unless Labour change track, they almost seem to be deliberately engineering a defeat at the next election in favour of a group of hard right misfits who'd destroy the country even further (and even more rapidly)...

Have we had the obligatory unhinged rant on Untruth Social yet claiming they're biased against him, unpatriotic etc? 😈

I wonder what results would occur if Retch carried out a similar poll on a certain other national newspaper they own? :D
comment in response to post
He seems to think voters lost to the Lib Dems, Greens and Abstain are not worth bothering about...

It's truly bizarre how many in Labour still support Starmer when he's abandoned almost all progressive policies, introduces new policies to annoy almost every demographic, then apes Reform's langugage on immigration in a futile hope to win back the minority of Labour voters leaning Reform.

The Catholic Church is notorious for being like the proverbial supertanker: no matter how hard the Captain pulls on the rudder, it will take seemingly forever to change direction. Heck, there's still a significant movement seeking to undo Vatican II (notably promoted by Ratzinger / Benedict XVI)!
comment in response to post
Whenever his predecessor attempted to make overtures towards communities traditionally ostracised by the Church, the Curia and Bishops pushed back, forcing out statements to "clarify" that nothing had changed.

How many years HRT + anti-androgens before their first win (many sports bodies which allow trans people require several)? Had any competed before transition? Had any transitioned as youths (so didn't undergo male puberty)? There are so many nuances, yet many still live in a binary world...
comment in response to post
26 out of how many? How many competitions have the trans athletes won / achieved a podium place in out of how many competitions they've competed in, is their margin of victory incremental (so could be outcompeted by cis women in the near future) or way above?

Ironically, having workable policies often plays second fiddle to what sounds like a simple solution to a complex problem (exemplified by the "Cake" approach to Brexit - leave the EU and we can retain all the benefits of membership but none of the costs or responsibilities).
comment in response to post
When will politicians realise that in today's media landscape, a very significant aspect of popularity is a media-savvy persona that can distil complex policy ideas into a short soundbite catchphrase. Contrast Tony, David, Boris and Nigel with Gordon, Theresa, Jeremy, Liz, Rishi, Keir and Kemi.

Reform paint themselves as insurgent outsiders, but many of their politicians + supporters are disaffected Tories (who don't have as much Brand Loyalty as the ERG and friends) - so as Establishment as they come while borrowing & adapting many policies from MAGA (because of course they're lazy sods)
comment in response to post
Local elections in general often only muster up around a third of the population, while the bulk of Reform support is disaffected Tories (as with a lot of their politicians) - about the only major difference between them and the European Research / Free Enterprise Groups is brand loyalty.
comment in response to post
To a large extent, they're just adapting large portions of MAGA ideology, which wants to make the US socially 1950 again (but strangely, they don't want 1950 levels of corporate taxation or public funding for legitimate science, research and development).

Tax all forms of income equally, and maybe investigate the feasibility of simultaneously withdrawing (or significantly raising) the NI Secondary Threshold (the higher income 2% rate), which could potentially allow either Income Tax thresholds to be increased, Employers NI rate to be cut, or both.

"I had someone write a book called 'The Art of the Deal' - deal making is an art!" /s But they'll probably claim that arts funding will only be distributed to projects in line with MAGA ideology.

Even with the 2024 election, Lab actually lost 500k votes compared to 2019, but scooped up a huge majority due to Con losing over 7m(and Con + Ref combined losing 3m compared to Con + Brexit). Yet they seem to ignore the loss of progressive voters to Abstain - only right wing losses matter. WHY?!

Even in this interview, Lutnick was briefly challenged on that value being allowed to say his spiel in full: "you said robots on other networks". They know manufacturing jobs aren't returning, but their core vote is sold on that myth so they perpetuate it.
