Labour setting up the camp infrastructure that Reform will use when they win.
Thanks to @minnierahman.bsky.social for pointing that bitter truth out.

The RW and media have been using that word for years now in the UK, for exactly those dehumanising reasons.
The word "Immigrant" only seems to be used if preceded by "Illegal" (which is untrue, no immigrant is illegal when they arrive, only later if their asylum claim or citizenship claim fails)

I did this a few times back in the pre-smartphone era with the Nokia tune over and over, and when they eventually looked round, saying "yeah it's annoying, isn't it?"
(Only with people who I reckoned I'd win in a fight with, mind)

The "eco" username piqued my interest, but from a quick scan of their account it's environmentalism only in the sense of having a flash EV and a fancy eco home

It will probably be a separate disabled toilet with RADAR key access going by most service stations I've seen (and sometimes even a proper Changing Places spec)

Aptly enough the Red Dwarf episode with the talking AI toaster was on TV the other day

In the original book it's soya and lentils, hence the name (they changed it somewhat for the film!)

Yes, and they can put it in quotes if they are worried that it's not yet been officially declared a hate crime by the police, before someone makes that excuse

From reading that page I think it was more likely the replacement Tu-22M that were attacked.

They should never have been allowed in the first place, they have what looks like a big lithium battery (CR2?) in them, from the ones I've seen smashed open on roads

And it doesn't explain why MPs regularly never mention their party on posts like this or their social media bios etc

Lots of green there on the image 🤔 - similarly a lot of Conservative leaflets have used large amounts of green over the past few years

Maybe Fabia estate is still available, I did read they were discontinuing it, but maybe that changes, or maybe not yet

Also emission regulations somehow mean smaller estates e.g. Fabia (which is very practical) are being dropped.
I got lost trying to read the latest technical docs, but wonder if higher emissions are allowed per weight (they were on earlier versions) which is why they can still build huge SUVs 🤔

People round Finsbury Park suffer already on match days (and when I lived there I noticed an increasing amount of events at the stadium, so wasn't just days when Arsenal were playing at home), and the tube station was often overcrowded from commuters so they'd shut the gates

Because it makes them and their backers rich. They want that well-paid directorship for when they leave politics

Northey St looking northeast I think, those flats seem to still be there

Northey St in Limehouse looking towards St Anne's church in case anyone is curious. Now the trees in Ropemakers Fields obscures all but the very top of the church tower

We've made elderflower cordial from ours ("Black Lace" variety) and it's bright pink and looks great.

My dad mentioned this week, whilst moaning about solar power (to point out how expanding solar was silly if we were going to be reducing sunlight)

No, but if you follow environmental/farming issues then it's very common to hear all scrubland criticised. So no it's not clear that John just meant horrible examples of scrubland - the English language is confusing like that. "horrible scrubland" could be a redundant adjective for emphasis

These and the Munch Bunch books both appeared in 1979, I wonder if one series copied the other?

The decision was done the wrong way round - should have always been "parking is banned unless there's a marked bay". Then we wouldn't need yellow lines everywhere

Yes, it shows a worryingly poor grasp of how things are received and can appear when reported - you just shouldn't mention a name like that with so many negative connotations

Even using "with car" instead of "by car" corrects these headlines by making the car an inanimate object
